Shrine on Faroe - Anybody know what it does?
While on the Following The Thread quest, I came across a shrine about midway across Faroe (unrelated to quest). Upon examination, I found that there was an 'interact' symbol coming from the logs at the bottom of the statue when using Witcher Senses (the armoured hand symbol). I managed to get behind the statue, and the got the standard 'interact' key prompt (default E, I think. I always have this action mapped to F).

At first, I thought I had to re-light the logs with Igni, but all it wanted was the standard 'use' interaction. When I did that, I got the message "Your prayer has been heard". Anybody know if there is more to it than that? Have I jumped ahead on a quest somewhere? Usually when that happens, the quest becomes active, but not in this case.

Is it just scenery that can be fiddled with, or will it do something later on?

Cheers.

There are four shrines on Faroe, each of them have an interact point which tells you that your prayer has been answered. Some think it has something to do with the weather but it didn't seem to affect the weather at all in my playthrough

Hmm, that's interesting..

Weather-shrines could be plausible. Skellige has a druid circle, they can manipulate weather. There was also a quest in w1, where you had to go buy a lightning-storm from a druid.

If during your playthrough it is raining on Faroe, go to the bottom-middle Shrine on Faroe and climb to its statue. You'll notice that the text underneath says "Pray for Clear Skies." If you pray at this one while its raining, in about 10-15 seconds the rain will start to fade away.
