She basically lose faith and never returns
She dies due to few decisions u make along the way,
if u dont go see the grave of her dead love, she loses her spirit,
if you dont tell her "she was born to accomplish great things" she wil lose faith in her self,
if u acompany her to the loudge meetings, she will think shes not strong enough to do things no her own,
if you dont do snowfight with her, she will not have enough of good memories to keep her strong,
if u dont destroy the lab in the tower, she will not be relaxed enough to win the fight.
You can screw one or two things from here if im not mistaken, and she will not die, but if u screw more, she dies.
these important decisions will decide if ciri will have the power to win the fight, or die there.
:)
At the point that Geralt is implied to die as well due to depression
as far as this game goes, she dies. but we never seen the body as they say. but everyone is certain shes dead, even geralt kills himself shortly after.

While becoming empress is not a bad ending, it still keeps her having to watch her back and "having" to do things rather than doing them because it's what she wants.
The empress ending is probably better for the people, witcher is better for her, personally... which is what Geralt cares about imo, as he's never taken an active interest in politics.
Probably not. Remember, she can travel worlds. Even spent half a year living in some sort of sci-fi-world.
Considering she's not an idiot - and obviously does succeed, or the White Frost would not be stopped - my theory is that she went to some sort of tropical paradise world and spent the long rest of her life swimming with dolphins, making out with hot chicks in coconut bras, or possibly swimming with hot chicks and making out with dolphins, or whatever you do as a sexy young woman with godlike powers in a tropical paradise.
I think you're onto something here, which would make it all the more sad that Geralt let himself die.
This could very well be the canon ending. CDPR have stated it's the last Geralt game have they not?
But it's not eternal winter after she 'dies'. So did she defeat the white frost *and* die? Seems unlikely to me.
Basically, IF SHE DIES, the entire ending is f*cking retarded. Why would she die if you drink with her, or dont visit a grave of some guy, but not if you do? Makes no sense.
Now, if she's alive either way but choses not to come back, that makes sense. Do the things she considers wrong and she just might be like "well f*ck that, why go back to a guy who treats me like a dumb child all the time?!".
Also, again: She succeeds. That pretty much proves she didnt die. She has complete control over time and space. Even if she were mortally wounded during her victory, she could STILL have come back to die amongst her family with merely a thought. Or gone to a world where medicine is so far advanced they can save her. Or whatever the hell she wants.
