Ugly Baby bug?

Does anyone else have a problem with the Ugly Baby quest? It seems I cannot continue now. I did download almost all of the free released DLC except maybe 2 or 3. Now there's no way for me to continue the main story and I have an invisible sword on top of it. Does anyone know what could be causing the problem? The DLC or W10 are my two best guesses.I just don't want to lose 40 hours of progress. Amazing game and if I absolutely need to I'll restart.....but it would really upset me if I couldn't just continue.

That's essentially what's happening. I don't know on the side quests but I just can't continue the main one. The waypoint points to nothing. The Baron isn't where he's supposed to be.

Well the waypoint shows that the Baron should be outside the gate and there's no one there. I haven't played in quite a while so I believe I just got done with the part where Yen used necromancy to get some info out of the poor soul who died protecting Ciri.

Have you gone to his office? You should be able to talk to the Sergeant there.

Yeah my bad there it does say 'tell the Sergeant'. And no I haven't. I can't remember where his office is honestly.

Ugly baby = botchkin right? I´ve seen uglier ones :p

Since there is spoiler here and there, but is there any later troubles if I steal stuff like gold rings from the castle at the start of quest chain? Because the baron explicitly tells to leave stuff alone once they come back.

I didn´t have problem with the quest, then again I did stuff in order.

I usually just head straight for the keep there, and go up the first set of stairs you see, across from the stables...where the two guards are always interrogating the guy they've captured. The same guy, says the same things, days and days and weeks later. Those are some mean-ass sonsofbiches, those two guards, and persistent. Interrogatin' that guy for that long. Just cruel.

Once you head up that flight of stairs with the single guard standing at the bottom of them, you go in that door there, past the same two guys who are always sitting there in the same spot eating and drinking (now those are some lazy sob's) and turn left down that corridor and head straight to the end and a little jog to the left and enter the Baron's study. The sergeant is usually standing in front of the fireplace when I go in there (on the right hand side of the room).

His sergeant is left in charge back at Crow's Perch. When you go back to Crow's Perch, have you tried looking for the Sergeant either standing outside near one of the gates or inside in the Baron's office where you used to speak with him?

Therre's no waypoint for the seargent at this point in NG+, is he still at Crows Perch?
