Sodden Hill Info

Is there anyone who is well versed in the witcher lore and has read alot of the books explain to me exactly what the battle on sodden hill was about? I've tried google but only found a crappy wiki explanation. The most i could gather was that it was some huge fight between the north and nilfgaard and alot of mages like triss and yen and philipa, viglefortz among other fought and they got real messed up in the battle even though the north ended up winning.

i read alot of those but they give bits and pieces of information, hence i was wondering if there was any more information regarding that war, like from the books or some other source.

I don't think so. Even the books reference the battles in passing, mentioning more its effect on the more familiar characters to the story (Yennefer, Triss, Geralt, etc). I'm not sure how much more information there is to be had, honestly.
