Possible moonblade glitch

So I found the moonblade in one of the spoils of war side missions in velen. Pretty sweet sword ok, I equip it. Running around doing my thing when I run into a nest of nekkers that are about 10 levels above me. I'm feeling adventerous so I dive right in and easily slaughter them due to the fact that my sword freezes everything it comes in contact with. Im thinking I got a hold of some real treasure here. So I go in the cave and find a high level rock troll. No problem right I've got a blade forged in the heart of the white frost itself. Sadly it doesn't work and the troll kills me. Also tested the blade on some rotfiends I found and it froze them every time. Anyone else ever run into this happy little glitch?

Freezing rocks doesn't really work you know? I haven't seen a rock bleed either...

Rock trolls are immume to most stuff, including intelligence and logic.
