Any reason to keep the Relic swords?
I won't lie, I'm a hoarder when it comes to rare items and in this game, it's hard to tell what I should keep and what I should sell. Looting everything you see will net you all the components you should ever need and I've never had to break down a single piece of gear for components. With that being said, I have a huge collection of relic swords in my stash and I'm thinking it might be time to sell them since they are just taking up space.

Are there any specific pieces of gear I should be keeping or is it all pretty much coin/components?

Witcher sets are all you need for any difficulty level. Unlike TES games there is no place to show collections of gear and swords. I sell everything.

Everything in the game is garbage.

You just need treasure hunt gear.

Well...Iris is a really good sword, but that's after Hearts of Stone :P

Dismantling is worth it often, check what you can get from items before simply selling them.

The lvl 68 saber you can craft is alright and Iris is alright too if you go strong attack/non whirl build.
Dismantle em all.

I think nothing beats legendary mastercrafted ursine but that's just me :P

If the stats are worse then what you're currently using, sell it.

There are certain relics that are special. For example 100% resistance (Fire/Bleeding). But mostly I watch my enemies burn, not the other way around.

This is late but for those who might come across this topic and read my comment. There are two mods that I'm aware of that make using Relic gear more viable and valuable options long term -

1.) Relic Weapons Redone:
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/545/?
* It would appear that the mod author has discontinued support for Relic Weapons Redone and has created a brand new mod, here's the link for those interested -
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1112/?

And what I've been using lately and personally recommend,

2.) Leveling Witcher and Relic gear BALANCED:
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1732/?

"This mod levels Witcher and relic armor and weapons to your player level, and keeps them at your level as you level up."

The default mod version levels:

Witcher armor and swords
Unique relic armor and swords in HoS and B&W
DLC armor sets (Temerian, Nilfgaardian, and Undvik)

Then there is another version of the mod that includes everything the default mod ver. does + it levels ALL Relic gear from the base game. The mod could use a tweak here and there, primarily a fix for NG+, however, as it stands currently, it's a great option for those looking for a mod that allows them to continue using their favorite Relic swords & armors for the remainder of their playthrough, HoS and Toussaint expansions included.
