So, I think my Toad "Prince" is bugged...
Before you read this please know that I have all the Witcher Gear in it's Mastercrafted form, and every superior version of every oil and potion, and every Greater Glyph, etc etc blah blah you get my point. So please don't waste time by responding that my problem has to do with a lack of equipment or whatever.

Anyway... I've died more times fighting this Toad "Prince" now than I think I may have the entire rest of the game on Death March. In fact I don't think I've died since I've been over rank 15 until now (I'm rank 36). I think it's bugged for me. I understand it's supposed to be hard by I can't imagine the devs meaning for it to be this hard. Here's some annoying and bizarre things I'm noticing while fighting him:

1. Yarden is supposed to "stun" him. When I do it works on him maybe 1 in 5 tries. He walks right through it most of the time and it doesn't start the stunned animation. Then other times he'll be 5 feet away from it and the Yarden stun animation will trigger randomly.

2. When I do manage to stun him, my sword will randomly do no damage to him from time to time. For example, I'll hit him with 3 strikes, yet nothing on his health meter changes.

3. Once in a while his tongue attack will randomly hurt me even though the animation comes nowhere close to making contact with me. I'm talking like 15 feet.

4. Again, his jump attack (that always makes Quen dissipate and stuns Geralt for a wonderful 5 seconds or so) will even hit me when I'm like 10-15 feet away from him. It's literally giving me no chance to hit him and roll away in time.

Basically, there's a bunch of buggy things related to the attack animations that are going screwy. I haven't experienced this with any other enemies in the game, and I know this is still a new DLC so I'm guessing there may be some bugs here. I know I can't be the only one experiencing this...

My first fight with him I couldn't really figure it out.

In the end - it turns out 1 successful igni directly to his face was taking about 1/5th of his health. It was almost ridiculous.

Not every igni to his face would land but when it did there was so much damage happening.

I did have a griffin set with a sign build but igni had zero points in it.

Yrden doesn't stun the toad, it just traps him. Depending on the sign's intensity, the effect lasts longer and has a higher chance of happening. Igni, even though they establish it is useless to try against the toad, works well too.

Basically, a sign-build Geralt just flat out murders the toad. Cursed oil works too. Have Geralt drink a Golden Oriole plus the Ekhidna decoction and just stand in the poison getting healed by it while getting healed doing stamina-burning attacks.

It should be quite hard for the toad to do serious damage to Geralt.
