Found a Glitch while finding the 1st tier bear gear

I don't really know how the trigger worked, but when I was searching for the body parts of the bear gear-the ruin north of Urialla harbor-, I was stuck inside of the castle because the iron bar that blocks the main enterance was not triggered with control stick that is located right next to the bar.


There are few suspcious reasons that how this might have occured.

1. I was exploring through the map of skellige and found the clue of bear gears so I started with the metal sword, then silver sword and cross bow then the body parts. I looked up with the bear gear and generally it seems like people start with the body parts. So starting with different parts first might have caused the trouble.

2. I was wearing full feline gear except for the silver sword. I heard some glitches could occur when you are wearing full set feline gear.

3. I am currently playing on Korean language version of Witcher 3 since I am Korean, and sometimes other games caused the problem due to the language difference-not sure how-

4. My main quest's recommended level is 15 while finding the bear gear's parts is recommened at level 20 so this might caused a problem.

5. I did not revealed the question mark on top of the place I found the bear gear-just realized-.


I'm simply posting this because Withcer 3 is popular to many people and some might have faced the exact same problem I have faced. It took me about 2.5 hours to get out of castle since I only save in one file and could not found a way out because the autosaves were all covered by this weird save point that I have crossed several times. Ironically I found a way out with GLITCH.

Basically I went back to where the cell door is closed-where you jumped down then immidiately closed by other trigger- and right beneath the place there is a space where you can climb up with jump that shows the gltiched space right between the cell door and rock that is placed under it. you can walk in this place and you can hear the water splattering. Anyway I walked behind the "invisible pillar" and jumped.

It led me into a water in the middle of island and I waited about 15~25 seconds then there was the message telling me that I have reached the end of the world and I should not proceed any furthur. Once you jumped inside the water you cannot move so this automatically triggers the game to send you out of the place and you will be standing on the surface of the Earth.

It is kind of a hard thing to explain without any screen shots, but I am posting this just because I felt a great sense of awe how I managed to get out of this hell hole rather than throwing away my past 5 hours effort-the last checkpoint that was remaing at the bottom of save files list- to past 6 days of all the works I have done. And in case someone is struggling like me with the same issue.

At least Witcher 3 is a great game still...with so many glitches...so was Skyrim

Oh hey, I just wanted to stop by and say thanks. I was finally able to be free of that dungeon that had trapped me for hours. It almost completely killed my desire to play the game, but by fighting the glitch with ANOTHER glitch I managed to escape. Thanks for pointing this out man, ya helped me.

Somewhat related, but there's a bug with getting the Wolf Set as well. The portal key is missing in my playthough, meaning you can't teleport to the chamber. However, if you walk slowly off the scafolding where the portal should be, just to the left of the beam that sticks out, you'll slide down the hillside and into the cave mouth where you can grab the diagrams. Do it at full health though, since you take quite a lot of damage from the fall.

I say a big THANK YOU to OP, I finally made it out of the dungeon, after struggling for a good while. I hope they will fix that door lever bug one day.
