Sorceresses infertile?

I knew Geralt was, but a loading screen says that sorceresses are infertile, too. So, if I'm reading this right, almost all of the main cast is infertile.

This may sound stupid and you may already know this. i've only played The Witcher 3 and do not know the rest of the story sadly but wouldn't Ciri be fertile. I thought when I was playing through she said she is not a witcher, she was just raised and trained by them.

Geralt's mother was a sorceress? Hot Damn ! I thought the girls who became sorceresses were cast offs and unmarriageable, it seems there are exceptions to every rule.

Sorceresses aren't sterile per se, they gradually lose their fertility through the use of magic, but they don't become sterile the moment they learn how to use magic, contrary to Witchers, whom do become sterile as they carry out with their mutations during the trials.

Yeah, Ciri is said to have the power to rule half the world, and her child is said to be able to rule the entire world (Also, it's supposedly her child the one's who's gonna be able to stop the White Frost, not her >_>). Hence everyone wanted to bone her, even her father, who's tried to conquer the Northern Kingdoms practically his entire life. He leaves that idea behind eventually though and concerns himself more with having an actual heir to rule Nilfgaard.

Not to bring this back up. But giving the place the game is set in, I would be shocked if they didn't know about this. You can turn a skin cell into a stem cell. Then you can turn that into pretty much anything you want (heart, brain, egg, sperm, etc). The reason why we in the real world don't use it is this has only been found out 5 years ago, and the cost is a bit (in some cases close to a million). But there is companies already working on making this pretty cheap. Like there is companies that are working on making cow meat this way, and they figure by 2020 or 2025 it will be down to the same cost as buying normal meat. Then in 5 or so years after that, it will be lower, and the need of killing animals to eat meat would be needless for the most part.

Anyways, in theory you could take a skin cell of the guy and turn it into sperm cells, and make yen's into eggs. Implant the fertile egg into yen and maybe a few other women (like a surrogate mother). Then see they won't be infertile any more.
In fact, I wouldn't doubt in 20 years or so we might see this exact thing happen in the real world for people who can't have a kid due to the woman has bad eggs/doesn't have any or the guy can't make sperm.

As far as this game, the only reason something like this wouldn't work (other than them not having the tech or understanding). It would be the witcher and witch not being biologically compatible. For example, if a girl screws any animal (dog, horse, etc), she won't get pregnant because only human sperm has the right chemicals within it to break down the egg wall to fertilize the egg. But this could in theory be fixed with something like crisper (modifying the DNA all together).

Wasn't there a doctor who based off this? He cut his hand, and the skin was cloned into sperm and ovum, which was then artificially aged

I don't watch doc who, so IDK.

All I know is there is people looking into how to use this to give someone a new heart or whatever. The problem is, the more cells you have the quicker whatever grows, and the less the slower it is. Like if someone needs a new heart, then I think it would take a year to 3 to make it with this. However, I would think a sperm and egg would be super easy since you're not talking about something like a new liver or heart.

May I also point out that those more familiar with the Witcher Universe also know that Ciri's parentage has been tweaked in the game. In original story Ciri is in no way, shape or form related to Emhyr or any other Nilfgardian.

This is very wrong. She is the daughter of Pavetta and Duny. Duny is Emhyr. Emhyr, in fact, had hired bounty hunters to track her down and bring her to him so that he could marry his own daughter because a prophecy said that a son by her would be even more powerful than she and he could wield that power to cement his hold on the North.

And that's all from the books, my friend. Maybe you should read them again. The game decided taht incest might not be too favorable from audiences that were unfamiliar with the story and so they threw all that aside and just made it seem like Emhyr, a man who had spent the better part of two decades trying to conquer the North, would be willing to just step aside in order to put his own daughter on the throne. Yeah, right. Try again CDPR.

Ciri is, in fact, heriress to a half dozen thrones.

-- She is heiress to the throne of Cintra. Her grandmother, Calanthe, Pavetta's mother, was queen.
-- She is heiress to Inis Ard Skellig and Inis An Skellig. Crach an Craite is a cousin since his uncle had been married to Ciri's grandmother.
-- She is Princess of Brugge.
-- Duchess of Sodden.
-- Suzerain of Attre and Ab Yarra. (This title was given to her doppleganger.)

And by birthright, heiress to the throne of Nilfgaard as empress.

Hey BuzzardBee... this just popped up...good to see you still about. Well, even with this game's problems or issues, it's still .......as a whole package one of the better games around. As you well know, nothing will ever be perfect in this world, but always keep on trying ,if only to increase our understanding so as to have more wisdom in making better decisions.
