Geralt too op?
Hi,

First of all, great game! However, I feel like when hitting level 20~ ish and upward, Geralt becomes too overpowered for 90% of the enemies I encounter. Did I spend too much time doing quests in the early stages of the game or do you guys feel the same? *spoilers* FYI, I'm level 21 and the main mission requires to meet Yennefer at the explosion site in Skellige. Playing on the death march difficulty level.

Anyone know if it gets more challenging onwards? Thanks!

there are still a few difficult fights left in the main story and if you have not played HoS yet, that has some of the most difficult fights in the game.

Ok, thanks for confirming this guys!

I do agree this is a problem with TW3. I don't mind feeling overpowered much later on in a game, but you reach this point far too early in TW3. It is certainly my biggest gripe about this game, considering how difficult the previous games could be. Still love the game, but I wish they had focused some patches to rebalancing.

Definately agree with this. They could make it so much better if they had balanced it out. That way it actually mattered what potion/dedoction you would pick in certain fights. Right now it really doesn't even matter, you will win the fight regardless and you are overburdend with items.

You can use a mod like "Better XP curve" to let Geralt level up slower. I personally started using this kind of mods (I have an older one that sadly is no longer on the Nexus site, that has a nice level up curve), and since then I never felt overpowered (only for a few very low level quest that I have missed somehow).

And, of course, play with that on "blood and broken bones" as the most easy setting...

Ok, I'll be looking into these kind of mods for sure. Thanks

To add to this, once you finish the main quest you'll unlock New Game +. Apparently it has much harder fights and new gear to boot. I can't wait to experience it myself. I think I'll actually learn to play gwent when I start over :)

Cool, maybe I should rush the storyline then. You should definately look into Gwent, awesome mini game!

I also read the developers will invest in the witcher next year too so maybe they will add some rebalancing/gameplay changes in the future!

I find I am dealing with minor enemies quite easily, and as I approach level 20 the difficulty has certainly dropped off. But because of all the side stuff, I seem to be getting to the main quests a little later than the suggested levels though so that might be part of it... really don't want to rush through it though, given my current game backlog I am unlkely to do an new game+ feature.

As for Gwent, I am experiencing a similar difficulty drop off as the main game. I just reached level 18 and I already earned the gwent master achievement.
