Can't believe i'm saying this but the main quest is really draggy now.
Dear god...now i need to do a mirror puzzle?? grrrr
Do you need a hug?
K, the ending somewhat mirrors the setting in W1. I get it.
The late game boredom isn´t exactly exclusive to this game. Sad thing is, both W3 and F4 were the games competing for Best Game, which means most developers will think linear/branching path games as something to never try designing again.
And that sucks. Who else here doubts the next Mass Effect won´t be open world and eventually become a bore too?

Always worth linking as it says everything that needs to be said.
*it didn't end when I wanted it to*
Just say that outloud and try not to sound pretentious.
Edit, I quoted you but it was mainly towards op
You can't ride from the south to the north. Heck Vizima itself isn't explorable. I had wanted to go visit and see how it looks like since i played W1.
I played both F4 and W3.
F4 has a weak and shorter story, but a very explorable environment.
W3 has a very strong and long story, but the environment for some reason I don't feel like exploring it. Maybe because the question marks are already thrown all over the place.
Both games have their strengths and weaknesses, and i can understand why W3 won GOTY, but personally, after completing W1, W2 and W3, i feel W2 has the better story pacing (would have been better if it was padded just a wee bit more)
W3 had TOO much story padding.
They should have shorten the time it took to find Ciri. Really felt burn out by the time I actually saw her.
I felt the whole "Where is Dandelion" sub-main quest to be completely unnecessary tbh. Was it really necessary to go thru all those quests just to find Dandelion?
The worst padding are those f-ucking dwarves blocking the damn door at the island where i meet Ciri. Who the heck are they? Why do I have to run to 3 seperate areas only to find 1 already dead, 1 stupid enough to fall and die and drag 1 who is literally half-sleeping all the way??? And when I brought him there, the dwarves literally say "Meh sorry m8, Ciri just died. Sucks to be you"
My Geralt kills anyone who so much as looks at him funny and he is blocked by a mere wooden door? Why doesn't Geralt just Aard the door and cut their heads off? GRRrrrr!!
*it didn't end when I wanted it to*
Said it and feel nothing like that.
Ryan, compared to W2 it is vastly more open world, things aren´t black and white so it´s not as "dark grey" as Skyrim but not as "bright grey" as W2.
It didn't end when you wanted it to and it's not an open world! Hahahaha... I'm staying clear of this thread. Wow.
Fine, please stay clear, i don't need to see your condescending remarks.
The build up to it, the recruiting of allies and everyone's mood was like "F-uck it this is it, here is where we are gonna make our last stand and here is where we will win or die."
Having played W1, i especially LOVED the part at Kaer Morhen when Geralt really had a bonding with his fellow witchers about the upcoming end fight. I missed seeing Lambert, Eskel, Vesimir and it was like, tonight we drink our fill, tomorrow we dine in HELL!! lol
I think almost everyone would agree that this part felt like it was the end.
We're all ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum......yet....
After all that build up, only to later run around with Ciri all over town thanking everyone, and even go so far as to do a silly little mirror puzzle is just .... :\
Personally I loved all the stuff after the battle. I was really satisfied with all of it. I would have been upset if it ended at the battle. For me the game was great from beginning to end. Loved the storyline.
