How do you play gwent?
When the gwent tutorial first came up, I just skipped ([spacebar]) right through it; I didn't have any intention of playing some stupid in-game card game, I had monsters to kill! Little did I know that apparently the cards are critical to the game, to completing or even starting some quests.

So now I'm back asking if there's a way to re-trigger the gwent tutorial. Even a console command to do so.

In the Game Options >> Gameplay there is an option to turn on on-screen tutorials. I'm not sure but I think that might re-trigger the in-game Gwent tutorial

[Edit]I just checked and no, turning that on did not trigger the tutorial the next time I played.

Also from the main menu there is a "Tutorials" section that has an extensive text tutorial on the game.

It took me a while to learn the best strategies of how to play Gwent. And you have to get into the habit of playing with everyone you meet whose dialog offers the option to win their cards. But it's cool once you build a good hand.

I just want to play to unlock all possible content in the game. Otherwise, I couldn't care less.

Well speaking off the top of my head I don't recall any quests that were specifically unlocked by playing or winning gwent. However if you beat one person, they'll sometimes identify other people who you can play to help finish a quest (e.g. "Gwent: Velen Players"). And that eventually can get you accomplishments.

But I have to say, don't dismiss it without giving it a fair shake. I was the same as you. I only forced myself to play it and do the Gwent-related quests just to say I had. And strangely now it's one of my favorite parts of the game

Which ones?

So I played a few rounds of gwent with a merchant to get the hang of it before playing one that really counts. It's a simple enough game, and I got the strategy pretty quickly (I'm no neophyte when it come to tabletop games...you might even call me an expert). I still don't get why they push it so hard in a video game. There's little enough to it that I don't get why they made it a part of an adventure/rp game, when it's such a lightheaded departure from the game itself. It's like you buy a game to fight monsters, but here, sit down and play a card game little more complicated than Hearts or Old Maid.

And the game cheats...keeps giving itself multiple additional cards.

If I didn't need to in order to unlock certain quests I'd never play this stupid fncking card game.

No. it does not "cheat". The additional cards that it gets are through spies or other special cards that you are able to get yourself. If you play and beat other players.

The passiflora quest is a quest to play gwent that you pick up on a notice board. You don't have to play gwent to get it.

You have to play a lot of gwent to qualify though.

Naw, no, anacceptable! I NEVER reset to a prior save point to recover a lost minigame, even picking locks or such, because I think it spoils the experience of the game. But the minute the Bloody Baron pulls out his second spy card of the game I don't even finish, I forfeit, AND REVERT TO A PRIOR SAVE POINT! Because he's got 3 or 4 of those in his deck, and all he has to do is get 3 or 4 cards ahead of you and your cooked! Fnck that!!!

Haha. The baron is nothing. Wait until you play that lady in the Passiflora tournament. Her deck is insane. Try setting the Gwent difficulty to highest level. It's brutal. Remember though, you can use decoy and "nurse" type cards to play the very spy cards that the opponent uses on you. Use their strength against them. It's kind of like Gwent Judo

Also, early on in the game, anybody playing Monsters tends to destroy me.

Outside of the tournaments, you can play people over and over and over again. Eventually you can build up an awesome deck. Some of the most important hero cards (e.g. Geralt, Ciri, and Mysterious Elf) are the easiest ones to win.

I always save the Gwent tournaments for last. I play northern Realms and I make sure I have plenty of spy cards and decoys.

I don't think so. I admit I could be mistaken but even in my very first playthrough of the game where I barely played any Gwent at all, that quest came up for me.
