Mastercrafted Wolven or Ofieri?
Need help deciding which is better for a fast attack and a little bit of signs build. The ofieri (I think that's what it's called, the new HoS gear) has more overall armor and (arguably) better sign buffs, but Wolven armor has some great general buffs like bonus exp or crit chance...etc.

I always thought Wolven armor complemented my build best, (and it's really cool looking) but after completing the DLC and finding this new gear forced me to make a decision. Not even sure if I'm getting the name of this new gear right but hopefully you get the idea. Thanks in advance.

On a side note...is it worth it to pay all of those crowns to upgrade the enchanter's gear? The only one I thought "I NEED TO HAVE THIS" is the preservation one that makes grindstone buffs last forever. Also, if I do upgrade his equipment, will it transfer over to NG+? Plan to make a NG+ with this save file. Again, thanks.

Bump: Is that Superior Viper gear you get superior to them both anyway?

Thanks for your help man, still wondering which armor is the best of the 3, I'm thinking the Venomous Viper Gear, but you get it so late there's nothing left to do in the game to actually use the armor for

If it's on your first playthrough, the answer would be new game+ since you start with it. Other than that, we pretty much just have to wait for the next DLC which will probably up the ante again.

VV offers a higher armor rating than the other two, and although is available at end game will set you up nicely for Blood & Wine. Personally I found the Ofieri a bit too mage-y looking for my Geralt and couldn't wait to get rid of it!

The answer isn't really NG+, while I get to use it for a bit, it quickly gets outclassed as NG+ sells much better gear faster. VV is only level 39 requirement on the original game, but in NG+ vendors start selling level 40+ things very quickly, the buffs it gives keep it relevant for some time but not for too long.

It's exactly the answer. You wanted to get to use the armor, and you will in NG+. When the new DLC rolls around, they're probably going to throw in some new armor, and that, too, will outclass Viper armor. It's just how the game is.

I understand what you're saying, as I do get to use it a bit more, but like I said it quickly gets overclassed by other weapons/armor in NG+. I'd have to wait until end game to use it again. Ah well, at least I'll get to use it for Blood and Wine.

So you agree it's the best gear in the game as of this moment?
