Bitter Harvest

Hi All

Can albin hart die before you even start Bitter Harvest. I noticed some ghouls attacking, so rushed in to help out the peasants, worried that Albin would be killed, making it impossible to activate Bitter Harvest. Can other Quest related NPCs die before receiving their associated quests.

Also do you receive the same amount of experience at the end of Bitter Harvest (50 experience) regardless of Geralts level. I know you receive a reduction Or no experience at all if Geralts level is higher than the suggested level for the quest, indicated by the grey text in your journal. I believe Bitter Harvest is a suggested level of 9. If Geralt was level 5 would you receive the same amount of experience (50) to if you were level 9. Would you receive even more experience if Geralts level was lower than the suggested quest level. Surely on level 9 you would just receive the bog standard amount of experience?

Edit: One more thing. The Nilfgaardian Connection has a suggested level of 5. I am scared of overleveling incase I receive little to no experience for that main quest. Mainly I am concentrating on the Witcher Contracts/Side quests. Then again I dont want to overlevel in main quests, so I dont receive any experience points in the side quests. Works both ways really. I am trying to balance things which is proving difficult. How do I prevent getting the Grey text in my journal? Not only that I dont want to start The Nilfgaardian Connection incase side quests in my Journal automatically fail.

i failed that quest because that quest automatically started i didn't notice and went away from that spot.

So you talked to Albin, received the quest without realizing, and then left. Is that correct? Or are you saying the quest activated automatically before you spoke to Albin.
