Crossbow Build
Seems with the new perks added and the right armor set, you could mix it in with the high level bomb perks. Found myself that road using the crossbow a bit anyway while they were on fire, or using exploding shot on the poison bombs.

Its a viable build I think once you have all the right perks; whats really holding it back is the severe lack of high level arrows/crossbows. Mine is level 29 (Ursine) and its the best I've found even though my character is level 41. And the arrows are even lower. Sure you can find some at random that are mid 20s, but the highest I can craft is level 19. Very limiting since that is equipment less than half my level.

(That said, bloody amazing game)

yeah i've been super curious bout this type of build's viability. Still, i gotta give a real try at alchemy first. Sounds cool though, I hope they add some higher level cbows!

The bomb line in alch combined with the crossbow / endurance lines in melee. The crossbow specials, the adrenaline gain from bombs and xbows, etc. And the oil based 100% crit damage bonus. That perk that makes bombs split off means you have gigantic explosions that you're kind of orchestrating and you won't be able to close melee much. So in your spare time between maintaining explosion fields, you find yourself firing off the xbow. Which, since they are on fire and/or stunned, works well and increases your total damage by a decent amount with zero focus on it. (One thing that's epic is that you can trigger Dragon's Dream explosions with explosive crossbow bolts) Its definitely viable, just needs level 30ish worth of perks to work. Which means you'd want higher level bolts.
