Do i have to apply all recent patches?
Hi there. I was quite excited when i purchased this game. however, i haven't kept playing it since this july. the latest patch i have applied is 1.05. As far as i followed, lots of patches have been released after that moment.

Do i have to apply all of them in order to play the game without glitches and bugs? In particular the massive 1.10 update.

Well - it depends an bit. I did not noticed an few bugs (like Roach being black and without manes), but nothing game breaking. There are, however, some bugs with NG+. I do not know how severe these are, because I do not use NG+.

That said, the bugs that have been resolved in the patches until 1.10 outnumber by far the few remaining and introduced bugs. In general it is an big improvement.

If you use the free DLC's it is advisable to uninstall, do the 1.10 update, and then re-install (and activate if needed) the free DLC's. That way you can be sure they are working fine.

Keep in mind that, if you use mods, you have to upgrade the mods so they can run on 1.10. Most mods are already upgraded, but you have to check if the mod(s) that you use are updated yet.

Also keep in mind that you have to install the 1.10 upgrade to be able to play the expansions. There is no way around it...

It's kinda weird that the latest patch downloaded appears to be version 1.05 in my folder. But the GoG Galaxy Client as well as the game shows me version 1.06. I am still at the very first stages of the game, just got in btw. The game runs without any problems, not so smooth though. On the other hand, when i choose the option "automatically", the Client applies an update from the current version up to 1.10. But i aborted it for now due to massive size.

Updating files doesn't work like that, you don't need to get each one in order to get all the changes and fixes. Just update to the latest.

Hmm just curious but, why wouldn't you update it to 1.10? Obviously 1.10 is way better than 1.05....

its too big. also i do not know if there will be any noticeable performance increase. on the other hand, i saw so many people are in trouble with 1.10. reasoning bugs, crashes after installing it.

People were saying the same thing about patch 1.05 as well. Seems like the most common problem with patch 1.10 is with people who are trying to use mods made for previous versions with it, or because Steam corrupted their files some how during patching so they had to reverify their files a few times.

Anyways, you only have to update to v1.10 from GoG, not any of the previous patches.
