How the F*** do you beat the toad prince?

This boss is ridiculously hard, harder than anything else in this game by far. Any tips on how to make this fight a bit simpler on death march? Builds, poisons, etc.

EDIT:
I just beat it by speccing into igni melt armor and quen shield bubble. The melt armor igni actually does quite a lot of damage if you hit him with a quick burst and then a sword attack, then when he throws all the poison on the ground you can use bubble quen to walk into it and regen health rapidly. Using this tactic I beat him in about 2 minutes.

I don't play Death March because simply i don't want,i am not a masochist...but on the Sword and Story difficulty i won this boss just before.I am lvl 36 and was too easy for me.Offieri Mage was a little more difficult.

I have played Dark Souls games and Toad Prince is a joke.I think that i can win him on the Blood and Broken Bones too.

Necro'ing this thread to self-congratulate for beating this boss on DM on my second try. L32 I think, mostly combat specced with a few points in magic for stam regen. Strats:

1) Quen always, which goes without saying
2) Dodge like it's Dark Souls, i.e. constantly, always toward the side of the boss
3) Swipe with light attack as soon as the toad lands. 1-2 hits tops, then dodge again to avoid getting stomped
4) Stay away from the tongue because it will kill you dead. However, the attack does "wind up" so you can sometimes bait the tongue attack to get the toad to chill out as long as you don't get hit
5) Blast Igni to do extra damage / buy yourself a little time
6) Chuck a Dancing Star to do extra damage / buy yourself a little time
7) Burning sword also helped a lot.
