How did you kill iris nightmare?
on death march? the sob it really stats to annoy me:P i mnage to get to the last one but that one manages to deflect even whirl attacks.not to mention his one shot kill strikes

and maybe more annoying are the long loading times between figts even with an ssd

Level igni to 100% burn, burn his ass, he will stop attacking leaving him open to a single strike(or more, maybe). You could just parry but burning is far safer with that random mega strike he does out of nowhere, which usually almost insta kills you.

Quen and parrying worked for me on death march

For every one but the last two just whirlwinded them to oblivion with the superior blizzard potion. The last two I had to parry when they do the red sword attack and then continue to whirl. That's death march.

I went for the achievement on death march while doing this, which is to wake up and fight everyone at the same time, here is what I did.

I used a northern wind with the cluster bomb skill to wake everyone, then went as far away as I could so that they group up and start moving towards you. Then I drank Ekkimara for lifesteal, Wraith for a quen shield every time they hit you since they deal insane damage, Maribor and Tawny for longer sustained Whirl and Blizzard to top it of making enemies move/attack slower.

Start whirling as they move closer and keep whirling while moving around til you slay them all, the potions should keep you alive, assuming you actually hit them with Whirl for the lifesteal.

I should also mention that I had the Severance enchantment on my swords which increases whirl range. :Toxic_Geralt:

First 4 are kinda easy... but for last 2 I used this tactic --->. If you see them going for red attack, roll away, cuz they can catch you more ofthen if you just dodge. If you stay close enough and dodge to the left when they go for regular attacks you can hit them in back 1-2 times. My sword has burning effect so it gave some more windows for free hits too. I had quen active all the time, so light atacks don't mess you up as much.

I saw someone beat it with parries, but my timing wasn't as good and 1 missed parry and you are dead, so I used... stay close dodge regular attack and stabe... rinse and repeat. :Eredin:

Honestly I didnt even notice the "phase 2" that people keeps talking about, everyone died at the same time for me when I used the tactic i wrote above. I killed them as a "group" dealing damage to everyone at the same time.

My biggest issue was trying to wake them all up without dying, then I thought of the cluster bomb perk which is amazing for just that. Fun to read about different ways that people dealt with it though :D

If you didn't see other phases ... I'd say you missed out. Every specter has a different pattern of moves and last 2 are very fast and just oneshots you. Guess if you wake them all up they are all on the 1st phase tactic. If you have a save... go try this fight with 1 at a time and you'lll see those last 2 are kind of a nightmare . :Eredin:

Whirlwind doesn't work on them and they block every your attack if you do it without setup and then can 1 shot you at anytime.

did the achievement yesterday and it was quite ok if you use northern winds whirl and quickly tumble away when they try to surround you...
but dont get hit the moment one of them charges you all the others join in and its almost a guaranteed death

This is why you use Ekkimara for healing and Wraith for a quen shield every hit, I could stand toe to toe with all of them hitting me while whirling. Well, if you want the (IMO) best route to dealing with all of them at the same time.

Skill Tree and my inventory with items at the max damage I managed to achieve.

I like to mix it up a little though on the lower left skills, deadly precision I tend to swap in while roaming but I prefer this build for bosses, the 25% reduced damage resistance from sunder is a nice way to start fights against bosses. I pretty much used rend exclusivley for the caretaker for example, hit and dodge, repeat.
