The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Statistiche:
Hard time finding a troll mutagen...
As the title says I can't find this F'ing thing anywhere. I've killed tons of them and never got one mutagen. Then I read online that you just meditate for them to respawn but they dont. For example, on An Skellig, that one travel sign, Trail to Yngvar's Fang which is Northeast of Urialla Harbor, there's a troll that spawns there. I killed it, didn't drop a mutagen and killed the sirens that are behind it. So I medidate, and the sirens respawn, but the troll doesn't? Wtf...

You have some quests that you can kill trolls. Have you done them all?

I've done alot of quests lol... Just now, did the one at Kaer Mohren when you find a bunch of dead drowners due to a troll. Killed it, no drop. There was also an instance or 2 when I may have let them live... Fml

There is a DLC quest in Skellige, but the Troll is hella-strong. Its name is Wham-a-Wham... the quest is called "Missing miners". The drop rate of that one seems high. I´ve killed him 3 times, dropped 3 times.

I know I did that quest, can't remember if I killed him or not. Let's say I let him live, could I go back there and finish him off?

That I honestly don´t know... I either kill him and never return there, or let him live and never return there.
I will try to describe a way to this cave where I found my Troll Mutagen; maybe it is a place you haven´t come across yet.

There is an island to the southeast of the Skellige mainland with the two villages Trottheim and Harviken and a Place of Power.
If you start at the Harviken travel sign and walk westwards to the Place of Power you can follow a path clockwise around a mountain. If you check the map and don´t see a cave entrance inside the circle shape the different paths form on the map, you haven´t been there before. The cave entrance is facing Harviken but it is so well hidden that you have to leave the path to discover it.
It helps to kill everything around the Place of Power/mountain to eliminate distracting signals and then use the Witcher sense to locate the two Trolls under the ground.

Back when I found them many patches ago, one of them was dropping loot, the other one did not. They respawned after an hour of meditation, but this might be "repaired" now as they are nowhere to be found in my current playthrough anymore.
Maybe you could use a savepoint immediately before fighting them and repeat reloading untill they drop the Mutagen.

Edit:Entrance location on map, Geralt standing inside the cave; you should see the Trolls directly below the arrow if you´re on top of the mountain and use Witcher senses.

Hey thanks man for replying, I'm going to hop on now and give it a shot. For some reason tho, it just dawned on me to just save my game before fighting the troll and keep re-loading until it drops. Thanks for mentioning it lol!
Now I'm starting to get annoyed. I went to the cave and there's 2 trolls, a rock and an ice. The ice troll doesn't drop anything and the rock troll drops different ♥♥♥♥ every time, but no mutagen.
And you can't meditate to make them respawn... I have every single other decoc and this one in particular seems amazing. There should just be a merchant witcher in this game that sells witcher specific ingredients. Like I would not mind spending 5,000 gold on an item that I haven't found after playing the game for 120 hours+, killing many trolls in the entire process.
