I tried adding it and all it did was change my "witcher gear" sword to an "error" sword

They are used to create Runewords. I have the opposite problem, I know what they do but can't find them. Where did you get them?

I know what they do for the enchantment, but it lets you slot either or both of them onto a sword.

I crafted them both, at the bottom of the crafting menu. Not sure if I automatically knew how to craft them or I picked up the diagrams somewhere.

its a joke by the devs. translated from polish, its cottage cheese and dumplings, hence, "they go well together", I guess a popular polish food.

your guess is as good as anyones, they don't anything atm. is it a bug, or an in game joke+bug, we won't know until the next patch or until the devs comment on it.

it is a little bit annoying if it is just a joke, or if they dont aleast add a proper new runestone in, the enchantment's are ok but it would be nice to have a lv.1 enchantment with 2 runestone's (or lv.2 enchant with 1 rune, or 3 lv.1 enchants etc.)

Thanks for the tip!

For anyone looking, the pyerog runestone diagram can be found at the top of the fort full of harpies northeast of est tayier.

When you find the Runesmith and pay him to make a smith, he can enchant your stuff with these, making all the food you eat double the healing (+100%) but taste like pyerogi (not just polish, but slavic pie, this is Slavic cuisine) which are godlike, I don't see any downsides to that.
So, it seems, they are only meant as part of this Runesmith enchantment.

I cant find them
They are used in the expansion Hearts of Stone to enchant armour to give bonus that works this way : it incrases the health given by eating food, but it changes everything's flavour to flavour of pierogi.

This post was referring to the sword application not the enchantment, which I said in the original post.

Pretty sure the bug has been fixed anyway.
