Carnal Sins bugged

During the quest "Carnal Sins" I'm supposed to go to where the woodcutter died and investigate the area for clues. I got stuck and couldn't figure out what I was supposed to investigate so I looked online for a walkthrough. Apparently there is supposed to be a giant red bloodstain in front of the bonfire with the statues in it. There does appear to be a magnifying glass symbol hovering over where the bloodstain should be but there is no bloodstain to speak of and nothing to investigate. I am using my witcher senses by the way just in case you were wondering.

This also happened to me during the "Novigrad, Closed City" quest where I am supposed to investigate a footprint by a cloud of stench but there was no footprint to investigate so I also couldn't complete that quest.

I'm 100 percent sure I'm looking in the right places I watched video walkthroughs for both of those quests just to make sure I wan't missing anything.

Both of these quests were apparently bugged pretty badly before a recent patch so maybe in fixing them they broke something else.

Its not bugged, you have skipped a step or something. Went thru the quest 3 times, just fine.
Maybe someone that's on that quest or just completed it can remember, sorry I can't

How could I have skipped a step? and even if I somehow did that would still mean the quest is bugged because I was able to skip a step that broke the quest so I couldn't complete it. It's clearly bugged, maybe not for you but it is for me.

Maybe something triggered wrong, did the guard show up directing you to the coroner? Did you look at Prissy's crime scene, had a chat with the ♥♥♥♥♥ there after you beat up her brothers? Try the bloodstain, while holding witcher senses. Otherwise, you might need to reload a little bit.

This is happening to me all the time now. I'm doing the mysterious tracks quest and there are no footprints appearing. I looked online and found a video walkthrough, I found the wolf corpses and was able to inspect them. There is a conspicuous looking dead deer and rabbit near by but I don't seem to be able to inspect them. I went to the exact location on the video where the footprints are meant to be and nothing Is appearing. As I said before I AM using my witcher senses, I haven't forgotten to use them.

Same thing happened when I was supposed to kill the griffin so I can get the acid for the master blacksmith quest.

The only way I was able to complete these quests is by googling a walkthrough and just skipping the parts that are broken. But I'm worried it will happen on a main quest and Skipping through to the next part won't be an option and I'll just get stuck forever.

Now it's happening with the lord of the wood quest. There are no tracks to follow at the loggers hut. The game is officially unplayable for me at this point.
