Should I keep collecting plant ingredients?
From what I've gathered from other topics is that you only need to create an oil, potion, or bomb only once, and it's refilled on meditation. When you meditate it uses the alcholest to refill. With that in mind is there any reason to keep picking plants in an area? Will they be needed again?
Thanks!

Correct, you indeed do not have the harvest alchemy incredients indefinitely (they're not valuable as loot either). Any alcohol (not just alcohest) in your inventory can be used to replenish stocks, so those you should pick up, or atleast keep a moderate stock.

Thanks! That will save a bit of time. :) Have to curb my hording mentality from games like Fallout and Skyrim. ;)

It's always worth picking up certain plants. Arenaria, for example, is used in several recipes in decent quantities so it's worth having some spare if you're out in the field.

But once you pass the early stage of the game you should have little trouble buying plants, it's the monster parts that are hard to get, especially cave troll and cockatrice livers.

vendors have some ingredients, but if it happens you are out of one ingredient is such a pain going in the woods..it didn't happen to me till endgame with rare ingredients stuff to craft but i'll save the plants from now..not enough cash vendoring those..

Right? Those are holding up two of my oils. And I already finished the main game!

Have you found every recipe in the game and made them all already? Then you proably won't need to keep them all. Then again, I'm not really sure how getting rid of them is all that beneficial. It's not as if they take up that much weight so what's the point?

I've just started, trying to determine how much of my effort I should put towards being a gardener. :)

You'll find a cockatrice to the west of the lake between Yantra and the Oxenfurt Gate in Novigrad (it has a guarded treasure in it).

You'll also find a cave troll once you clear the bandit camp south of crookback bog, it appears a few days after you clear it. There are others, in fact I'm sure there are several in Skellige, but I can't remember exactly where.

Oh you can be a hoarder and a good player, through the game iself might become boring ;) in the end you loot to craft and to sell. If tons of loot can´t be used for either, hoarding becomes a waste of effort.

Thaks, but...like I said. I already finished the main game. Those places and monsters are all done and gone.
