How big is the Download (not the installed size)?
Hi there,
i want to buy w3 in the sale, but my Internet is really slow (6 mbit/s; 20-30 minutes for 1GB) and i don´t want to run my PC 5 days unused just for downloading the game. Can anyone tell me how big the Download-size is? I don´t mean how much space it takes on your hard drive, but how big the compressed download-file is.

Well I don't know for Steam, but my download sizes from GOG are:

Basic game (Version 1.10): 26.52 Gb
Update 1.10 to 1.11: 454 Mb.
DLC's: 548 Mb.

Total is about 27.5 Gb

HoS Expansion: 4.24 Gb.

So - yes, you are in for a long download I am afraid.

It´s less than i thought it would be. 27/30GB are okay, that´s about a long night :D I was afraid it would be like 70GB or similiar like GTA V, which would take me 1 1/2 up to 3 days downloading. Thanks, looks like i´m going to buy it!

how can you take that long to download 30gb of files?

My 2.4mb max DL takes GTA:V in one small night (10h or so) and 2.4mb/s max connection downloads AT full speed bit under 9gb/h. (2.4mb X 60 seconds x 60 minutes = 8,640gb/h

you cant have a 6.0mb/s DL speed if it takes longer than me to download theres something wrong in your connection.

Your internet (if its working at full speed that you pay for) Should download 21 gigabytes of files in ONE HOUR. :D

Otherwise, id say theres some sort of bad connection issues on your 6mb/s connection.

Nope. Idk if it´s the same in your country as here in Germany, but all providers i know tell their speed in mbit (megabit) instead of mb (megabyte). As 8mbit are 1mb, you have to divide the number by 8 (not sure if this sentence is correct), so my actual speed is 6/8 mb/s = 0.75mb/s.

So i need 1,25s to download 1mb -> 1,25*1024 = 1025,25s/GB or 17,1min/GB. But because other people use the Internet too, i need 20-30m for one GB. That´s correct

ah i see, since im the only one in my household doing the downloading and all that stuff i use the most of the internet.

But yeah, then i wont wonder since its a 0.75mb/s connection. Those arent even sold at where i live nowadays, since its a connection thats not being sold anymore. all are either this minimum (2.4mb/s max) or higher.

I mixed up the Mbit/s you were given :D

They aren´t sold here either, but if you rented them a few years ago and never upgraded you can still have it. I upgraded already, but the telekom is very busy somehow and i have to wait until february for 50mbit/s :(
