Anyone else having rendering problems?
I just finished the opening tutorial and now I'm in the open world and alot of random trees and bushes, some areas of the ground and a few other random objects aren't rendering properly. I couldn't find anything else similar to this problem. I have a couple screenshots on my profile page. I have zero problems with any of my other games on high settings.

My specs:
i5-4590S (3.00 GHz)
8 GB RAM
GTX 970 4G

I have seen the screenshots, and it is defenitely not normal. I have almost the same system as you, and everything renders great.

Try to verify your game files. There are a lot of people here on this forum that have corrupted files. Personally I think Steam is a bit overloaded with this winter sales, and has some problems with sending installation files. Not that strange, if you realise a lot more people are downloading data than normal. Nevertheless - It should not happen.

So - verify your game files. Keep in mind that sometimes restarting Steam or even the computer is needed to finalize the repair.

If the above doesn't help, I would suggest checking for updated graphics drivers. Running on old drivers can cause wierd artifacts like you have.

After that, if it's still screwing up, check your GPU temps, could be overheating.

After I encountered the problems I double checked all of my drivers and all my temps are fine. I was also thinking it could be a corrupted file. I did purchase it during this sale. I've restarted everything a couple times. Is there a way to completely re-download the entire game? When I get home I plan on deleting my saved files and starting a new game.

You should definately try to repair the existing installation, like jclosed suggested. It is faster and more reliable than redownloading the whole game again.

Open Library > Games, right-click The Witcher 3, click Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity Of Game Cache.

Thanks, I'm going to try that now.

Thanks jclosed and EddieK74, that did the trick! It found and replaced 10 files. Everything looks amazing now. Really appreciate it.:steamhappy:

I am also having this exact same issue. However, I am running Windows 10. Anyone know how I repair the file? I have the file saved to a different harddrive. I have my Steam file on that disk so all of my games are downloaded there. I tried doing Steam>steam>games>Witcher file (with a weird name but the Witcher icon). I went to properties, but there weren't any local files there. I also tried Steam>steamapps>common>The Witcher 3. Same thing... no local files. I haven't been able to find anything called Library. Sorry, I'm completely computer illiterate. P.S. I also downloaded this file during the sale.

I'm also running Windows 10. Go to your actual steam library and right click on The Witcher 3, click Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache. It should find a couple messed up files and replace them and you'll be good to go.

@Hookshot666 - Thanks a lot! I had 13 messed up files and I'm redownloading now. Much appreciated!

I've found that restarting my computer can really make a difference after installing a new patch on my GOG version of TW3. I'd recommend people do so after every verification AND every new patch too.
