Is the expansion pass worth it?
I could get the game for $30 or get the game with the expansion pass for $55. I thought the dlc's was going to be free, anyway, is it worth the extra $24? Will the expansion pass be on sale some day? How great is this game?

I've not had the chance to play the DLC yet and I've not played the first two titles in the series. But honestly, the game is really phenominal and totally worth the sale price.

There are 16 pieces of DLCs that are free. These are smaller pieces of content, a few quests, a couple of contracts, alternate outfits for three of the femal characters in the game, three complete sets of gear for Geralt and his horse, three crossbows, new hairstyles and beards for Geralt and a New Game Plus mode.

In addition to all that, there are two paid expansions, much larger and containing many more hours of content. The first, which has already been released, Hearts of Stone, offered new quests, contracts, areas to explore and about 15-30 hours of additional gameplay content.

The second and final expansion, Blood and Wine, which will be released sometime next year, offers a brand new area to explore, Toussaint, and will have many more contracts, quests and about 20-50 hours of new content.

List prices for the expansions are $10 and $20 USD, respectively. The expansion pass offers a 15% discount for both, at $25 USD. The game is currently discounted 50% for the Winter Sale and the bundle price for both the game and the expansion pass is $55.23.

The first expansion is currently on sale for $8.49 (15% off). The second will most likely do the same and sell for a 15% discounted price of $17 sometime next year. You'd still be saving about 50 cents with the expansion pass.

And the game is great. So is the first expansion. The story is immersive and the writing is excellent. Combat can take a bit of getting used to but once mastered is rather fun. It's open world so you can pretty much go where you like. Lots of things to explore, places to visit and see. Lots of contracts to do.

It's the third and final part of Geralt of Rivia's story. He's a witcher and the first two games pretty much acted like a two-parter picking up the story following the end of one of the novels on which the character is based, The Lady of the Lake by Plish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

However TW3 was developed with the newcomer to the series in mind. There's enough information and backstory in the game to bring most players up to speed without having read any of the books or short stories or having played the first two games.
Alright, thanks for the long info. Will the game still be $30 till January 4th? I'm still not sure if the new steam sales means that the discounts will be same till end of sale even it shows up on daily highlights.

Bruh, even if the game was 100 bucks it would still be worth it. Keep that in mind. Buy this ♥♥♥♥. And enjoy

Steam does not do the special prices during a certain day or certain hours during the sale anymore. Those highlighted games you see are the same discount as they were when the sale started and will be the same discount for those games when the sale ends. So the price you see for Witcher 3 right now will be the same price it will be till the end of the sale even if it becomes a highlighted game

Oh so the sale prices never changed. So the the witcher 3 price was $30 even when the sale started? So all the other games on my wishlist, the prices are the same and will not change during the sale?

That is correct.

That is actually incorrect. Fallout 4 was not on sale but is right now. I have seen other examples of this also. Your best bet is to monitor your wish list for any adjustments in sales. That being said, I don't think The Witcher 3 will go any lower.

you should really play the other two games, especially the first one
Jeckenn 27 DIC 2015 a las 8:30 a. m.
I would recommend getting it ALL now otherwise you're going to be pissed when you get through the game and don't have the expansion(s). This game is really good as my 422hrs in it proves!

XD

I've only just started playing and I'd argue that it's worth the money!

Just got the game with expansion pass. I disliked the first Witcher because of annoying large environment with no purpose of going to and outdated graphics. I just started playing it and just could not play it. I enjoyed the second one but I feel it's too late to play it now. I know that the Witcher 3 catches you up with the story.

This... if your into fantasy rpg's that are a little more on the story-oriented side then the role playing, if yes, then this a great game for you.

the second one is worth playing. the only reason i didnt play the first one was because it did not have controller support. the third one is gorgeous. the setting reminds me of red dead revolver but so much bigger. the story and graphics make for one very immersive game. you'll have a hard time coming back to reality when you turn the game off lol
