i don't like card games , and this gwent looks too difficult for me , is it important to know how to play it? or is it ignorable?

You can ignore it, but there are couple of sidequests and optional dialog choices which are resolved by playing Gwent. Meaning you have to have a decent deck built (that is, need to have played Gwent on regular basis to earn cards).

Maybe you should give it a try instead of just dismissing it right away.

I thought the same thing when I first started playing this game. On my second playthrough, I made an effort to learn it. I am glad I did.

It's a great deal of fun to play and a great way to earn money and cards. Give it a go. You'll pick it up :)

Same here.
I absolutely despise forced side-activities, I shuddered at Red Dead Redemption's Horse Races :S
And normally, although wanting to do everything else and taking it slow wherever possible in games, I ignore Racing and Card/Board/Whatever minigames completely.

But Gwent... I dunno man.
It's just fun! Even I stay for a rematch and long to collect cards.

I actually don't get the gwent game. I win first round easily, only to get an automatoc loss on the second game, have to watch a few youtube vids on that ons before I progress to far in the plot.

Play it! Yes it won't make sense at first and your deck sucks, but learn the basic strategies and just win a few crap games and you will be able to start competing. And buy every card you can from merchants. There are at least five gwent quests in the game, and it even factors into some other quests. There are also quests that reward you with gwent cards. It's a great game once you figure out how to play it. The basic rule is, get a card number advantage over the AI. You'll learn how to use spies and decoys soon enough. I almost always throw the first round to get a card number advantage and then let the AI have it the next two rounds.

No, it is not important. There is only one quest not related to cards where, if you don't play cards, there are consequences.
