Failed to save the game
Can't save the game, played for nothing. Any solutions? Got a few terabytes of free space and only one hard drive.

you played over 30 hours and now it does not save? what changed? windows update? graphics card driver update? new app/program/service running?

did you add a mod?

check antivirus log. new definition file might be blocking the game.

try either an older save or new game and make a save - perhaps current save has a logic error.

there are manual saves, autosaves, checkpoint saves - none of them work?

I got a new pc with better hardware. No mods, drivers are up to date, no extra antivirus programs.

you got a new pc. of course you know that windows has default security settings. and that neither the game nor the installer nor steam change/override/ignore any of these settings. up to YOU to manage all that.

game launcher needs to create folder
Documents\The Witcher 3
folder should contain files user.settings or dx12user.settings profile.settings input.settings
after game launcher runs and you set your graphics settings
and after game starts your gamesaves folder.

if these files are missing also besides no saves:

check antivirus log? might be blocking game/game launcher.

check windows security/controlled folder access.
if on add exceptions for game launcher/game.

running Windows One Drive? One Drive moves the ini/preference/save files to the one drive.
turn OFF one drive. uninstall it if not needed. look in the one drive folder for your saves and move them back where they belong

or if you need one drive, should be exclusion/exception option.
exclude the games folder or tell one drive to leave a local copy of the files
details in the one drive user manual
