The achievement 'Card Collector'...

Really enjoy the game, and there is probably the right information out there if I look hard enough... But most guides or walkthroughs are about 9 years old. Is there an accurate, up to date place I can go to, to complete this headache of an achievement? I tried rushing through using a video guide from almost 9 years ago, ended up screwing up real bad and no revert backs since I overwrote the save file. It has so far drained more than 10 hours, and I wish to not spend more time on this game and move on to other ones I want to play/complete.

you need to check the book from your inv. screen, Miraculous Guide to Gwent, there you will see where the cards you're missing are, if they are in Velen, there are a couple of suggestions ( yes the ones frm 10years ago) as to where they might be, if not, you need to go village by village and check the mercants

Go on Nexus Mods and look for the mod that improves Miraculous Guide to Gwent. It'll give you much more exact information where the missing cards are.

I believe there's only a tiny number of truly missable cards (for example, winning cards from that Triss quest at the Vegelbud's and from the High Stakes tournament). I hope you got those.

IN GENERAL:
So I have run into this error/bug in the quest 'Big City Players', where VIMME VIVALDI only shows up while MARQUISE SERENITY, SIGISMUND DIJKSTRA, and SCOIA'TAEL MERCHANT do not appear on the quest requirement (probably not, since others have stated I have to progress through the game to have all 4 individuals in the quest).

Yeah I've been using that handy book, and referring to the old videos. I think there needs to be a balance between the main quest progression-character level, and with the gwent quests/collecting (as in progress a bit through the story, then work on the gwent quests and sometimes secondaries that might trigger other options).

Does feel tempting to use mods, but I want to experience it raw and have satisfactory results in completing probably the worst achievement I have tackled so far in any game (though feels hypocritical when referencing from videos and articles).

yes I think you have to do some quests for the other 3 to appear, IF I remember correctly, the lady at the passiflora comes with the tournament, dijkstra after you do his quest in the sewers and then the last one you have to free him cause he's captive by bandits in a question mark, again, IF I remember correctly

aslo, teh 10yo vids helped me with the achievement, I did it back in 2020 though, I think there is another merchant you have to free for his card

Fair enough, but that "kill 50 enemies with crossbow headshots" achievement yet is waaay worse. LOL... no way in hell I was trying for the platinum after looking into that one.

The crossbow one is not that bad, there is a spot at Skellige with wave watching pirates. I don't know if this was overkill but I just went with: The xbow mutagen, all the xbow perks and just aimed at their head. Boom, insta-killed. You can also get the other achievements with them (Hasta la Vista, What Was That?, The Enemy of My Enemy, That is the Evilest Thing, Overkill, Kaer Morhen Trained, and Humpty Dumpty) via adjusting difficulty depending on which one, and Axii sign or Northern Wind bomb.
I probably should have done this gwent collecting task with my first play through, ah well.
