Parry doesnt work agaist boss fight
i know exactly how parry work in W3 as i performed it countless time....
However when fighting against Iris greatest fear boss fight, my parry never activated even i time it right..
Could it be a bug , or could it be "enemy level upscaling setting " issue?

you’re trying to parry olgierds charging sword swinging attack? Lol

That attack can literally pass through quen and cause damage.

Dodge and roll.. m8,, dodge and roll.

No. Are you talking about "Counterattack" - it's not the same as "Parry", but requires timing.

Counterattack is possible here too:

(DM with Enemy Upscaling ON)

In that boss fight, some of Olgierds' attacks are unparriable, you need to dodge them.

You can counter-attack and parry normal attack but can't parry when his sword glows red, better dodge as far as I remember

Geralt must prevent Olgierd's sword from charging - by covering him with attacks.

But if he's in a hurry, he should use the Inferno mode. Counterintuitively the fastest method is to activate all ghost copies of Olgierd at the same time. With the bomb "Superior Dancing Star" Geralt gets rid of Iris' greatest fear problem in about one minute:

Yep, I used that mode, ordinary fighting against one at a time takes much time, but this method also gives you the achievement too, which also makes it better to go all-in.

olgierd or nightmare doesn't have any attack you cannot counter.
Guys , the issue has bee resolved... after done my research online, i went to turn off the setting of "Enemy upscaling"...

The setting had literally disabled Geralt's ability to parry/reposte/counter-attack against the red glowing strike of Oldgield...

After switched off, i was able to defeat Oldgied with ease no damage taken, by time the parry correctly in 1st boss fight 1vs1 combat & 2nd boss fight clone Oldgierd...:yeah_tk:

That's soft cheating, you lowered the difficulty of the boss ;P

Turn off enemy scaling is deemed as cheating ? i merely want to play under basic mechanism which turning the parrying by default...
Kill it in hard way is not impossible, but i just dont like to dodge and hit when basic parrying is available...

Not saying it is literally cheating, I'm saying that enemy upscaling is the only thing in the game that doesn't make it that easy even on Death March difficulty.
Not only Witcher 3 has fights where some attacks are unparriable, so get used to both dodging and parrying.

Does anyone know if they fix this in next gen? It makes no senses that you can’t parry him with enemy scaling on

There's nothing to fix, at least not on the developers' side. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the problem can be solved with Counterattack - also on "DM" with Enemy Upscaling ON:

Counterattack is extremely useful, especially against shield wielders and in fistfights against humanoid opponents. And even the final boss in B&W is impressed.

Oh okay so you can parry him with scaling on now. That's all I need to know. Thanks

Hey so I'm having the same issue. I'm countering but my character is doing the counter you do to creatures instead of humans. So instead of kicking the enemy back giving an opening he just swings the sword downwards like when countering a ghoul or a wreith. I tried turning off enemy installing but nothing changed. I'm enjoying my first playthrough but this sucks...
