Gwent sucks

One of the best RPG's of all time with one of the most boring mini game/card game system ever. Caravan is 100x better then Gwent and dont even get me started with the legit best card game in any video game, Triple Triad.

Gwent is superb... except for Skellige. We don't need any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ new decks!

I use a mod that let's you auto-win Gwent. I can't imagine how long this game would take to complete if you actually had to spend the time to play every Gwent game available. It would probably add another 30-40 hours to Blood and Wine alone

I'll probably do that. Someone should add a mod to just change gwent into blackjack or replace it with caravan.

For me Elder Scrolls Legends is the only real card game out there ;-)

Agreed. I actually like Gwent a lot. Play it regularly anytime I play Witcher 3.

I avoided Gwent at first. But then I invested some time to learn it, and now I love the game. I play on easy (for Gwent) though. Else it was too hard to win, for a beginner.

Some of you didn't grow up playing endless rounds of Pazaak and failing to beat times at the swoop race track by 0.05 seconds & it shows.

It's pretty straightforward once you get it. Just fill your deck with as many spies, Decoys, and medics as possible, plus a couple Scorches, and then bring your total up to 30 with the most powerful cards you have. Basically, you want anything that helps you draw more cards than the computer, or expend your cards more slowly than the computer. If they use spies, just use decoys or medics to throw them right back. Win Round 1, then force the computer to spend its hand down to one card winning Round 2, then finish it off in Round 3.

The skellige set really sucks.

It really is all about which cards you chose to put into you're play deck. I dump all the low level 1 and 2 cards, or all cards that are "singles" (i.e. do not multiply). I hate the monster deck. If you have the freeze weather card, you can beat the monsters so easy. I only play Imperials and Northern alliance.
I also think the AI cheats. I had a game against a Scoiatel who was able to play 2 dandylion cards in a row (Allthough there should only be one available for each deck).

I've seen the AI cheat and play two Villentretenmerths, too. On the other hand, it's so dumb it barely matters. And yeah, Northern Realms and Nilfgaard are definitely the best.
