Water essence nowhere to be found

I am in velen, some 20 hours into the game (taking my time), unable to find single water essence, henc unable to brew the cat potion. No drops, no loot, no traders have them. Any help?

or buy them off of herbalists

I find them on drowners all the time.

High level drowners maybe, semi-rare from water hags, common drop from sirens (you'll find tons of those in skellige).

I found them in every sh*t that comes from water. Idk how it's called in English bc I'm playing in rus version.. But water essence is very easy to found trust me ;))

Id love to trust you guys, but im some 22 hours in and haven't seen a single one so far. Next ill try to visit all the alchemists. Wish me luck.

Do you loot all containers you find in open and in homes?

I'm in the same boat as this guy. I loot everything and kill everything and still haven't picked one up..

there's a herbalist in white orchard near the sawmill signpost that sells them, she also buys honeycombs at max price.

Just to add a log, i get plenty too, or buy em from the herbalist. For the purpose's of the game, a Herbalist is not the same as a Alchemist, Put crudely Herbalists sell ingredients and Alchemists sell reagents.
