Yennefer had no business being so rude to Skjall
Skjall was already helpful to Ciri at the cost of his life and name, but Yen just had to be extra rude even after getting all the information from him. First time i played i went with Team Triss, now im going with Yen and already kind of regretting it.

I see where she feels bad about having to do it once it's over. Yenn is all business when it comes to getting the job done, especially when it comes to Ciri whom she loves completely (as well as Geralt). The books definitely show that she loves Geralt, but again, when it comes to Ciri, she will do what she feels is best.

Let's also remember, they were NOT going to let Yenn and Geralt investigate the decimated forest and with Ciri, there's more than just trying to find her because they love her. The Wild Hunt is coming for her due to her power and you know it's not for good reasons.

Triss is no angel herself. In the books, Triss was all for giving Ciri to the Lodge to get her married to a Prince so they could control the country, the kings, and ensure they kept their power.

Also, she completely took advantage of Geralt's amnesia to have him all to herself. She KNEW Geralt and Yenn's past yet she NEVER would tell him about it. It wasn't until in The Witcher 2 that he remembered Yen and he confronted Triss and told her to tell him everything about Yenn and him, even the parts she doesn't want him to know. In fact, in The Witcher 3, with him having his entire memory back, she does tell him that it's good that he has his memory back now because he can't be taken advantage of and she even ADMITS to him that she did take advantage of him.

Triss also went after Geralt after he and Yenn had parted (in the books). Yet, Yenn still considered Triss a very close friend.

One thing to remember though is that the games are NOT canon. But I do feel they respect the lore from the books pretty well.

In the end, this is the beauty of the game. You can choose who you want to choose. For me, when I first started playing the Witcher games, I never knew of the books. I was team Triss as well because I didn't know about Yenn. I only knew Triss from the first two games. When I started Witcher 3, I was with Triss first so I chose her. Then as I started learning about Yenn and the history they had, I chose her. Oops!

Since then I've read the books multiple times and I'm team Yenn all the way. She absolutely LOVES Geralt. The way the books end proves that so I'm all for her.

But I can understand why you feel the way you do. Again, that's part of the beauty of this game. it can be played how you want and how you choose.

I hated Yen for a long time because of her apparent indifference. Soldier on, and you will not be disappointed.

rotting hunks of meat usually dont weep in pain and beg for you to help them restore their good name.

yeah i get triss used geralt's amnesia to make him love her but did she cheat on him though? Because im sure as hell Yen did.
Also, canon or not, this is a game discussion.

Team Triss all the way. Gingers need love.

I thought her disrespect for the grove sacred to Freya was far more egregious than her treatment of Skjall. Everyone knows the dead require a lot of coercion to get to them to cooperate.

Female characters in modern western media are usually written badly, one-dimensional, unnecessarily extra rude. I just don't invest in female characters in these games/movies anymore. It's easier not to care than to be mad and disappointed every time.

Characters with flaws are more interesting, and this is Yen's in a nutshell.

Replaying just cos of the HD edition. Going to choose Yenn this time just cause went Triss.
I had thought about whole dynamic that Yenn left etc, Triss lied but still took care of Geralt. But um ya, had similar arc reading through some of books and thinking about it/reading your post. To quote my dp, Yenn "has flaws, but she has teeth." and while she does not f around when wants something etc, she's good people end of day.
