Where can I find proper amounts of water and food?
All I have is alcohol mostly beer. I don't want to be drunk every time I need to heal. Milk and stuff like that would help too. I had 100 meat but sold those before I understood how much I need those. Most stores seem to have just few of every item. Are there some good stores somewhere?

there is so much food in the Witcher that it makes no sense to buy it, but even if you decided that there is no way without buying a couple of loaves of bread, then here's my advice to you, so as not to spend extra coins on a useless thing: there is a pen with pigs in the White Garden, right next to the only tavern. you kill pigs, meditate for a couple of hours, come back and kill pigs again. lots of free food.

this advice will help you only at the initial stages of the game or in the case when you don't loot the boxes at all. there are too many food sources in the game, so the farm is not needed at all.

If you have the Blood and Wine expansion, use the Gourmet ability. You won't lack for food ever again. I'm half way through Velen and I have something like 10 types of food in my inventory plus a full stack of 100 units of water.

Same. Sometimes I go to inns in this game to eat something and have a few drinks after completing a monster contract or long quest. Sometimes I even just go to an inn room to meditate.

Which after all is what inns are for, besides who wants to meditate in the driving snow? hahahahaha

Tip: you can collect Honeycomb and eat it from the beehives on trees. Use fire to burn the beehive off the tree with getting rid of the bees too then wait a moment and you can collect. You hear the beehives when you are close. This is a good alternative from bread, at least at the start of the play through

At the little village right before entering red barons castle there are goats, pigs, chickens and geeze/ducks.
You can just keep running around in circles killing with igni. They somehow keep reswpaning. Once they don't reswpan just reload the area. You can farm a lot of meat in just 15 minutes doing that.

Thanks guys. Have to check that gourmet thing and fight some domestic animals. I think goats drop milk too. I did sell some food before so It's my own fault I have this problem. Then I did run out of water and ended up being drunk all the time.

lol it's not really worth it after the update, they nerfed the consumables, quite badly, no point in the Gourmet skill any-more. All it do's is make each item last for 20 mins or so.

Why dont you simply use Swallow and Raffards Decoction?

Youre always full on strongeralcohol if youre just lootin a little, so just drop some of the potions in when needed, meditate 1 hour and restore your stuff.

No drunk debuffs, way faster health restore than with regular food.

Swallow an Raffards add to ya toxicity, they also nerfed ya toxicity level, so you can consume less potions and stuff, before update u could drink 7 potions b4 reaching toxicity, after update maby 5, depending on the toxicity of said potions.

Yeah, so? Simply meditate 1 hour after you downed one and restored health and youre good to go without waiting an eternity for the food to restore your health or waste money to buy food.

so u just used 2 potions in your current fight, u drink a swallow, then a raffords, suddenly ya in toxic overdose... u CANT meditate during fights, also on Deathmarch health dosn't regenerate with meditation, which means necking food, or another potion.
