I mostly get ~90 but I don't experience frame drops after stuttering. Once the screen unfreezes, the game again runs at 90 fps. What are your specs?
- Could also be a world loading issue, but if you have the game on an ssd, then that shouldnt be a problem.
- What speed is your ram running at?
Yes B4 the update whacked things.. 16GB would have been enough, now with the bad optimisation and generally worse performance and DX12, i'm not so sure.
I've never had the "thermo throttling" issue neither, no matter how long I've had it running, the GPU temps never got above 70-75 both pre update at higher settings and after update with lower settings.
- in NVIDIA Control Panel, force FAST Vsync,
- edit in dx12user.settings ini line: limitFPS=40 or 45 ( for 80 or 90FPS cap with FG On)
- Disable Control Flow Guard (CFG) for game witcher3.exe in x64_dx12 folder: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/disabling-control-flow-guard-cfg-an-exploit-protection-feature-in-windows-10-fixes-various-games-stuttering.258819/
and change to recommended settings with optimalization mods and newest DLSS dlls:

I'm glad someone understands that windows need proper configurations to run games.
Thanks, this worked!
