hmm...I had this issue... (also noticed fog displaying the same thing but less pronounced when viewed under certain angles,) but changing the option in dx12user.settings for FogUseDistInColorLerp=1 to FogUseDistInColorLerp=2 is what fixed all the spiderwebs and fog with RT on for Me..
Maybe it can fix the purple window lightning issue i hope
I haven't tried it, but I think I read that someone else did and it didn't work. Regardless, I'm wondering if the windows are supposed to be like that - doesn't look too out of place to me.
Hey, yeah I’m the one that wrote that comment over on Nexus.
Sadly no ,the FogUseDistInColorLerp=2 variable doesn’t resolve the bug with window reflections being purple …nor capes(modded in or the vanilla ones the shady individuals in novigrad wear) reflecting red on water/mirrors. Just for whatever reason fixes webs and the slightly purple fog.
I suspect that the window bug and capes(redcloth) bug is similar however to what the mod for webs fixes however and perhaps some talented modder will look into those as well at some point like the cobweb fix.
Yeah if You have raytracing enabled some windows in novigrad start displaying a purple tint to them. (Probably elsewhere too)Reloading sometimes fixes it. I’m on my phone currently but here’s a post on Reddit showing a example
https://www.reddit.com/r/Witcher3/comments/zm1wy2/purple_windows_with_raytracing_enabled/
I assume this is a limitation on how many reflected surfaces that can be displayed at once or something similar as not all windows get this bug and as stated sometimes reloading fixes it.
The purple fog is very subtle. Enough so that during play without using darker nights mod Its probably not noticed as much by most the player base when using RT . In my experience it only seemed to affect distant fog and only when the camera was tilted a certain way. Changing the FogUseDistInColorLerp variable to 2 fixed this on my rig and also had the unintended side effect of fixing the webs as I can not find a purple web in the game anymore and they display correctly without the cobweb mod.
Hmm… strange. I’m not sure about why either. I’m using the Henry Cavil v8 mod and it seems normal on my end. I’m not using the cobwebs mod however.
If it’s too distracting I’d suggest changing back the fog variable to default boot up the game and see if it fixes it ,if not remove the cobwebs mod, re-enable the fog variable again to 2 and test again.
