Game Crashing On Launch

I've recently done the last update to the game, but ever since updating, every time I try to play, the game crashes right away. It will show the launcher, but as soon as the game itself starts to launch, I get a game crashed notification with the option to send a report. Prior to the newest update, everything was working as normal. It seems like red launcher itself is fine, but as soon as the game comes up, it immediately crashes. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with no luck. Is there anything else I can try?

go to folder
Documents\The WItcher 3
delete all the .settings files then try the game. (or rename them or copy them somewhere)

IF YOU HAVE MODS - the old mods generally do not work with the updated game. update the mods also

Are you starting the dx11 or dx12 version? I got the new update which was in kb i think. But it works totally fine on mine with dx11. I don't know about dx12. Didn't try that cuz of the poor performance it gives compared to dx11. Also i got a lot of mods installed and none seem to cause anything

You can run game without red launcher all you do is run .exe file that you have in x64 bin

Try contact cdpr support they helped me when I couldn't launch the game

check windows event viewer and also windows reliability history. hopefully there is a game crash event or system related errors. an error msg would help. otherwise, just do a web search on witcher 3 wont launch and try the 100's of hits and skip the ones you already tried.

as far as I can tell the red launcher has nothing to do with running the game. I went to the witcher 3 folder, moved all the .dlls and redlauncher.exe somewhere else, then went into the bin/x64 folder and ran witcher3.exe. game works perfectly fine - brought up my current save somewhere at the start of Blood and Wine. open the launcher-configuration.json file with notepad. when you choose dx11 or dx12, it shows it changes to the appropriate folder then runs witcher3.exe - same thing you can do manually without the redlauncher
