why do they update this game?
It is from 2015 no cares if it has a few bugs that don't get patched.

They need to update it because there are many issues since the new next gen came out that they need to fix.

game is 8 years old it was running just fine i think they should have just left well enough alone..that is my opinion though

it didn't need a "updated" version. It was great to see the "new witcher armor" and all but that's it, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game (that in a long time ago was fixed). It's just sad.

This game is the least contributing factor to why you should be worried about the next Witcher. I'd be more worried about CDPRs obvious shift from being consumer friendly to deception and lies to make money. Not to mention them bending the knee to ESG.

I'm ok with the updates, but the devs should try to do it with a mod-friendly perspective, it's annoying that every patch are not compatible with the mods

Plz explain to me why any update basicly is a new install?
50G+ seriously? Where they unable to patch or something?

I have 70 mods of different types installed and only ONE of them is causing an issue with the update. What exactly do you mean with "mod-friendly perspective"? Do you want CDPR to test all existing mods by functionality? Or do you mean, that CDPR has to inform every single mod-dev that there will be an update and has to wait, until every mod is updated before publishing their update?

You do not have to use the update - you are able to stay on 1.32 if you want.

we don't have a choice if its already updated itself.

Just in case you don't know, on Steam you can rollback to 1.32, on GoG you can rolback to 4.03, 4.02 and so on.

If you open the game properties and select the Beta dropdown menu, you can revert back to 1.32 and go back to classic version.

yeah. i think too, that updates are not necessary, if it worked fine. i mean, some minor bugs are STILL not fixed.
like, when you are going don on a hill with Roach, its a** is still looking up to the sky in about 90°, which is kind of funny.
or, at the story part, when you have a fight with the baron, and their house is on fire, the graphics going down to PIXELS. now that is annoying. (this was going on high graphics settings, NOT maxed out, on "update" 4.04...)

and the biggest problem of all, that these so called updates disabled mods that were cool, and actually made the game even better.

so yeah, i agree on the updates are actually bad for this game, because its essence did not change at all, it still would be a great one to play with.
