apparently if you're CPU bottlenecked on DX12 it really improves the performance.

Dx12 I use but the patch didn't improve my fps using ray tracing on a 3080

new patch breaks frame generation completely.

Really good patch for me. FAR less stutter, and a general performance increase. I'm on AMD though.

cant even mess with DX12 just crashes because i have a 7X radeon series.

Yep, far less stutter, so far.
(It's contextual, but for me it's been smoother gameplay)
Witcher 3, an older:steamthumbsup: but good game.

I have a 7700x and no problems. It's never something that generic.

I roamed around white orchard for about 20mins without DLSS Frame gen, and in the same session for another 25mins with frame-gen - I didn't experience any crashes with this update.

I have seen your post and many others claiming constant crashes after 5mins or less with framegen on but I can't replicate this issue on my end at all.

The new patch gave me around a 20% uplift in PERFORMANCE by running in Novigrad.

Full Specs:
i7 3770k oc @ 4.2ghz
32GB DDR3 1600MHZ kingston fury ram
RTX 2060SUPER
MSI Z77mag-45

back then, Novigrad was a slide show and stutter fest. Now I can run it at 1440p DLSS set to balanced with RTGI at performance and REFLECTIONS. I can get higher frames running at native 1080p since I am using DSR.

Overall the patch really really helped. It is like when Spiderman Remastered started optimizing things. Hope for more better patches in the future. So far so good!

3090, 12900k, 32GB Corsair DDR5

1440p with quality DLSS, maxed/Ultra+ everything including full RT.

Game is definitely smoother since update. Less stuttering. But my main problem is still present. And that's this weird bug that happens upon reload or fast travel (especially if fast traveling to another map, IE from Velen to Toussaint). It appears to be some glitch with RT specifically, as it doesn't happen with RT off.

When it happens, the shadows look really weird (like completely blacked out) and the game slows to a crawl. So much so that even trying to pause the game to reload or quit to main menu takes multiple keystrokes/button presses.

try using DDU and reinstall drivers see if it fixes it

Sounds like a VRAM issue, but of course you should not be having one with a 3090. As the guy above said I would wipe your drivers and reinstall them, maybe load up a system monitor and see if your memory is getting pounded in those moments.

It may happen after a slightly longer time than 25 minutes, it can vary alot how long it takes...

I'm getting the dreaded frame generation crashing issue others have experienced since the update. Performance seemed good for the minute or so the game lasted before crashing, I was in Hierarch Square in Novigrad in DX12 with ray tracing, should be a worst case scenario in terms of CPU performance.

Specs:

i9-13900K
ASRock Z690 Taichi
64GB DDR5-5600
RTX 4090 Suprim X
Windows 11 Pro.
