Hi, I've been playing this game for a few months on a basic PC (don't know the specs it was a present) and it started to struggle and not load, I wasn't surprised on a six year old laptop. I bought a new one today, and so far Wild Hunt has crashed twice. The specs are AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, I don't know if the issue is my new laptop or an issue with the game, and if anyone could shed some light I would be grateful.

256gb storage? this game uses 57gb so one fifth of your drive.
sounds like a laptop for web surfing/basic use and not a gaming platform.

click on steam help then system information then copy/paste everything here. perhaps more info will be revealed. maybe your drivers need updating or the graphics card is not being used if there is one

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U by itself uses an RX Vega 7 (Ryzen IGPU)

which is not for gaming.

I found an RX vega 8 vs gtx 960 (which is bad) and the RX vega 8 is weaker by 232% in speed.

Now keep in mind this is RX vega 8 not 7 , the 7 is 20% weaker than 8 so yeach it is not for gaming ....


The minimum requirements for the game is gtx 660 , and the gtx 660 is 120% faster than the RX vega 7 so you having an crash would be nothing surprising ...

Now this Cpu requires an good GPU , the weaker ones have insane bottleneck as high as 60%

please dont try gtx 1060 or 1660 gpu with this cpu as the bottleneck is crazy. (unless you ok with it.) (even with the crazy bottleneck it is still better than by itself.)


also the 256 GB storage is super bad , in today age we measure using Terabytes which is
= 1000 GB , so 256 GB is really bad , whoever sold you this got easy money profit from you.



(In short buy an gpu if you dont have one , and buy SDD storage 1 TB or 2 TB ) not HDD

Also the RAM might be bad as well , so I would probably change it. Unless it is actually good.

It is laptop so he cant buy and install standalone gpu in there.
The new next gen version 4.01 will not probably run any good on the integrated vega 7 GPU, however if he roll beck to 1.31 then it can be maybe playable at 720p low.
