Game won't start after update

Thought i'd try out the new update and play through the story again but the game won't even start anymore it just appears with an error log and an option to send a report, i have a slightly older computer so all these new graphical updates are a pain because some games just won't start anymore, and this isn't a game i want to be locked from playing lol

What does the error log say? If it's something about C++ functions, you need to delete your mod folder.

Sorry, it wasn't an error log it's a crash reporter, it says "The Witcher 3 has crashed."
Then telling me to send the crash report. Happens everytime i try to start the game, i could opt into the classic version through the betas tab but then i wouldn't get any of the benefits of the new update, bit of a shame lol

What are your spec's? The most recent spec's from CDPR require a minimum of core i5 2500k, 6GB RAM. and a Geforce 660 or equivalent to run in DX11 and a core i5 7400, 8GB RAM, Geforce 970 class to run DX12

Even though your PC may have DX12 compatibility, the old version of Witcher 3 (v 1.32) was DX11 only. There is an option to re-download the original v 1.32 by opting into the BETA branch.

Try a fresh install (see instructions on the cd website) or switch to DX11 until cd finally patches the DX12 version of the game.

My processor is slightly under requirement, but i wouldn't have thought it would of stopped me from starting the game, i have an i5-2400k, a gtx 1050 ti, and 16GB ram

Uninstall your mods and start fresh. I had the same problem.

Surprisingly, i don't have any mods for the witcher. Only had one playthrough and it was vanilla.

Still might not hurt to do a fresh install. Also, check your documents folder and delete any user / input ini files for the witcher, maybe you tweaked stuff and forgot about it?
