Left quarter of screen goes black in cutscenes... wtf

So i, like many of you, re-downloaded Witcher III for the new updates. Everything has been about what i expected and am fully enjoying my play through. But suddenly, a week ago, during cutscenes the left quarter of my screen goes black with a strip next to it blinking in and out. The game is still completely playable since the black part of the screen turns back on when the cutscene is over, but it's really getting on my nerves and i can't seem to find anything about it online. I can't be the only one experiencing this issue, right?
