Update coming
https://www.google.com/amp/s/wccftech.com/the-witcher-3-next-gen-first-update-is-in-the-final-stages-of-development/amp/

Of course, there's no mention as to what will be fixed, or a date of release.

I just had a 2.2 GB update. I wonder if that was it? Haven't seen any notes about it yet though.

what version does it say in game ?

does it say anything other than version 4.00 ???

I mean so far the news is that:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be arriving on store shelves around the world starting January 26th

other that no news or any update when launching the game.

I've not had an update today, verified files to make sure and still nothing.

One thing I hope they fix is the ray tracing shadow pop in from trees. The shadows change from normal shadows to ray traced shadows when you get about 20 feet close to a tree. You can see the shadows change and it's really jarring.

Another big issue I had was the light flickering like crazy on bushes. It wouldn't happen 100% of the time, which made it even weirder. I've been holding off playing until a big patch is out.

Awesome, thanks! I hope CDPR puts these options in the game, but if not I will use this mod.

Of course the update will probably break mods.

The only major issue i'm experiencing is what feels to me like a memory leak. At times, after maybe 4-6 hours of continual playtime, the game will just start stuttering and lip-syncing goes out of wack. But if I make a save, exit the game, and reload that save, everything is fine & smooth again. I'm not the most tech-minded person, but it feels to me like it's a memory leak issue.

Big hope. I love this game to death. That Toussaint atmosphere...

This happened to me too with the lip sync loss but it was random. Restarting, like you said, fixed the issue.

I`m sorry to burst everyones bubble here BUT... There is zero movement on steamdb Witcher depots page for 29 days now... Don`t get your hopes up for any update small or major.

EDIT: I`m really hoping I`m wrong here and that twitter post means something, won`t hold my breath tho.

Fact: CDPR owns GOG. Why would they use Steam internally instead of the platform they already own?
