TW3 has ruined gaming for me (mild spoiler)
I needed a cigarette after the final few scenes in 'Blood and Wine'. When Geralt sorta almost breaks the 4th wall and turns to you, it's like a gigantic exclamation point. One can almost hear the book closing, ending one of the most incredible gaming experiences ever. There's an enormous sensation of finality, and it made me kinda sad. Yeah I get my wife back afterwards and that's nice, but still there's an intense feeling of a satisfying but melancholy closure after that last conversation with Regis.

I have all of these secondary quests left to in Toussaint do but I've lost all desire to do them as they now seem like pointless filler.

After this, almost every game I try now seems like crap. None of them measure up. I gave W2 a very honest try but, seriously, W3 spoiled me. I just couldn't. My only hope is that Warhorse releases the bloody sequel to Kingdom Come Deliverance soon as I'm really searching for something to fill that gaping hole that TW3 left.

Well, I guess. Personally it really enjoyed what it gave me but it hardly ruined anything. But, I guess if you were player that focuses on story, worldbuilding and character interactions. I get that. Outside from maybe Planescape Torment, not many game did this so well.

Kingdom Come Deliverance delivered that. It was more immersive than TW3. Story quite different but just as compelling. Unlike as with Geralt, you can be a saint or a murdering psuchopath. In terms of dialogs though, I think that TW3 is the winner - nothing can touch it. The lines given to Regis, for example, are absolutely masterful.

Heh, I kinda disagree. Kingdom Comes IS immersive, no doubt about it. But, character interaction is not as deep as in TW3 or Planescape. That said it is mostly because Henry is confined to his role in the story to a much higher degree than both of these mentioned game. That said this is not what KCD is selling so it's a bit unfair to compare them on that point.

Try TW2 again, it's great. Other than that, I can only recommend Assassin's Creed 2 and AC Brotherhood and maybe the Skyrim standalone mod Enderal.

But I get it, TW3 makes the competition look like children's games. Maybe read the books, they're great aswell.

For that very reason I tend to wrap up everything before finishing the last main quest, especially when it comes to the greatest of games, which leave you with that kind of feeling you mentioned. A phenomenon as old as the video game industry itself (not to mention in the realms of novels and films) and I don't believe there was ever any term for it in my youth until now in the recent years after depression became more socially acceptable. The general term being dubbed post-game depression for the aforementioned 'phenomenon'.

You nailed it. I've felt subtle twinges of it before with other titles, but never like this. I think it was the masterful treatment of the relationships between all the characters. I do recall that after the main campaign I was quite upset that I'd not get to interact with all those incredible 'people' again. By the end of B&W, the conversation with Regis just hit me in the gut. The realisation that all of these incredible interactions were done and done.

I even miss Yen, and I don't even care for her. I jut like her snark and attitude.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, except for the Yen and Triss situation, my choice reflects on my experience with the books although I love Triss's portrayal in Witcher 3. One can say that Witcher 3 definitely packs a hefty punch. I knew instantly that Witcher 3 would be one of those games I would repeat regularly over the years.

Combat in this game is ass. Plenty of other great games out there.
