I've had the base game and DLC since day 1, I've never had any previous issue with remapping keybinds. Update 4 defaulted all my key remaps to vanilla. :(
Thanks for your response.
Do you have a controller or other non kb/mouse input device plugged in as well?
I was unable to bind to specific mouse buttons (4 and 5), and had an issue where all prompts showed up as controller instead of kb input...until i force disabled all controller profiles for this game via the games menu in steam.
If you're trying to play on KB and have a controller conflicting with it, try my solution.
Right click witcher 3 wild hunt in steam, go to properties, controller - disable controller profile. Should allow for proper KB/Mouse binding.
Had the same issue with a controller plugged in, and it was the only way to get the game to allow me to fully bind keys and display kb based input prompts in the tutorials.
Huh, interesting then if it's giving issues with just KB and mouse attached as well. hope it somehow fixes it for you then
The last time I played was in May of 2020, subsequently I uninstalled the game/DLC, but retained my save games .ini file, game settings, etc.
This AM I deleted my save games (Gggggrrrr!!!!) and the other 2020 settings files; then verified my new v.4 game files (one bad one/was fixed). I'm now able to remap key binds with a whole bunch of L mouse clicking on the key bind a want to remap (never the same number of L clicks between any 2 remaps); instead of just the double click that should enable the remap.
Got'em all remapped finally..................at least the game runs good (so far) at max settings; unlike so many posting of their issues/troubles here.
