Too Easy After Update?
Something changed, i'm playing Blood and Broken Bones. Before the update, I was having a little trouble eliminating monsters twice my level, I'm on 15 now. However, after the update, it looks like it's on easy.

Someone noticed this too?

By the way... running perfect here. No problems so far. Great job, you guys turned it almost another game.

I'm feeling like something about damage calculation changed, or enemies have less health or something, could be FCR3.
I feel like enemies are dying faster but I'm also dying faster, I'm taking more damage.

I don't know if it was enabled before, but there's a "Monster Scaling" toggle in the game option that's off by default.

Yeah, Enemy Scaling will wreck you later on in the game on Blood and Bones or Deathmarch. I usually only turn it on when I fight bosses. Just so they don't die quick.

It has a combat balance mod in it now. That's probably why.

Turned on monster scaling, really didn't notice any difference. Can't tell if this option was there before the update, but if it was, i was playing with this option off by default. And as i've told, game was giving a bit trouble at my lvl, what implies the general difficulty of game now is low.

I'll try Deathmarch, see if anything changes.

There is a story mode difficulty as well as monster scaling.

It's not you, they seriously broken the fighting.. I completed of Swords and dumplings on Deathmarch, in under 10 mins!!!! at level 3.... Yeah thats right, level 3 It took me 20 mins to hack 1 NPC to death at level 11 in the old game.(BTW in the old game 1 hit from the NPC would kill me outright at level 11, now i can receave 3-4 hits, b4 i die) I'm planning to start Blood and wine at level 4, just to see... Wonder if i can complete the main game b4 level 10

Adjustments to the combat, toxicity and healing (food) mechanics have been made, but in most cases they make the game MORE challenging; food healing is now reduced, and it's no longer possible to make Geralt completely invulnerable to toxicity through perks (above 90% you'll take damage nonetheless, now, which reduces a bit the power of Euphoria). Enemy upscaling was there before, but on Deathmarch NG+ it buffed some enemies well beyond the intentions of the devs (Olgierd dealt so much damage that he became impossible to parry or counterattack, for example). It is and has alway been disabled by default. I haven't tried it in this new version, yet, so I don't know if the problem has been fixed

Why counter attack or parry? I never did, and had no problems with Olgierd on Deathmarch, I rolled. Trust me, deathmarch in the new version, is like "Just the story" with god mode..

BTW they lowered some of the level requirements too, Skeligge is now lvl 16, as opposed to 18+.. My sword "Blade from the bits" increases in damage, according to your level, so really no need to ever buy or find another steel sword

Frame rate is much faster (>60Hz) with VRR, so the combat is a lot smoother and possibly easier as a result?

? Frame rate was always unlocked and this version is heavier, I doubt he is playing at a higher fps, and isn't vrr a console thing?

Nothing to do with FPS:onaim: They've messed with the NPC stats themselves, B4 the update, I did Of swords and dumplings, at level 11 on Deathmarch, 1 hit, and i died.

Todays |i completed "Of swords and dumplings" at level 3, and am able to withstand 3-4 NPC hits b4 I die... like 15 levels above me

VRR is variable refresh rate (G-Sync, FreeSync). Stock Witcher 3 didn't support that before this update, plus it was capped at 60 fps before. I didn't bother with the mods and was waiting for this update to do my 2nd ever full playthrough. I'm playing on Deathmarch as well, and cleared the first area without many issues.

You'll clear the rest of the areas easily too, im in Skelege at level 4, my next stop is Hearts of Stone, thats 25+ levels above me, an if #I can hack an slash summit easily.... We'll know the fightings screwed........

BTW this is prob because of all the players who complained at "How hard it was", bad players, ruined game for good players, frankly anything I can do at what ever level, YOU can do too... Am I to blame because I put the hours in to get good?

O'd save every mega NPC battle, and reload it over and over and over, working out the best techniques, the movement of the NPC, which gives big clues as to what it's about to do. I also studied it's "patterns" and it's "territory"when fighting, how it responded to what moves.. :steamhappy: In some case's almost like a "spider sense"

For Instance, Human NPC's with things like haelbeards, u can strike em twice, B4 they counter attack, so hit em 1-2 an roll behind 1-2 roll, also by rolling at them, you can force them backwards, this also breaks their counter.. Clever isint it

Nother little tip, if u Axxi some 1 and can get behind em quick enough, you can instakill em, most times.
