Can I download the "Classic 1.32" version without downloading 4.0 first?

I bought the game prior to this update but never installed it, I want to play the "Classic" version, but Steam offers to download the "new" 4.0 game which is 50+ GB's, the old "Classic" version was 35GB's before...

Changing the beta branch to "classic" still makes me download the 50+ GB's. :/

You never played the game before, you should be fine. These issues we are having are most likely because of the old save files.

you change to beta tab before press install, if you still need to download 50+ then try restart steam and try again

you'll get 60-70 FPS 4K and 140-150 FPS on 1080p.

Probably the size is the same cuz they kept the update, fixes, etc, but removed the visual upgrade and all that.

Classic (1.32) is accessible - just right click the game, properties, betas and select classic in the drop down. The game title should change to The witcher 3 [classic] in your library, or else it's the new version.

But won't Steam update it later just because the update is available? Will it stick to the old version or it will be updating every chance it gets like Windows?

I did that in the properties window, but the download was still ~50GB's or so, the name didn't change neither to [classic]... perhaps I need to restart Steam for the "beta/classic" to take affect?

...And now I don't own the game anymore lol... Can anyone confirm the [classic] download that's 35GB's or so who don't already have it installed? does the name say [classic] even when uninstalled (in your list of games).

I rolled mine back using Beta Classic too & then copied my original modded game files over & everything works just fine.

i used beta tab and went back to 1.32 then added all the mods and stuff i wanted and now just launch through the .exe in its folder not through steam. if you try through steam now it makes you use the red launcher and wont let me play with certain mods installed. so aslong as you just launch through .exe itself you should be fine
