Unplayable - 4090
No native HDR.

Win 11 auto HDR only works win DX11 version. Not in DX12, so you cant use RT with HDR.

Stutters all the time, with or without RT. Only if I use FSR or DLSS performance, than there is no stutters.

Now I crashed 3 times, so I gave up.

4k max settings:
DX 11 = 80+ FPS in Novigrad town, higher when out on the road somewhere
DX 12= 25-45, sometimes less than that in Novigrad. DLSS Auto

I know ray-tracing is eating performance, but come on, there is better optimised games out there then this "next-gen" version. I was expecting 60 fps at all times at 4K with RTX 3080. Because other games perform and look good at similar settings using ray-tracing or not.

DX 12 is not good in this game at all. If we disabled ray-tracing, the game doesn't look that good either and also has stuttering going on... Getting a 4090 will not justify this performance issue/bad optimization.

Agree with U there.. but (RT off) looks good enough, not that bad (actually it's pretty for 2015 game)

The stuttering is only present in DX12 only... DX11 is stable with no issues

Wait for an update, or try using DLSS & set the settings to Ultra (not Ultra Plus) or wait for an update to fix some of current issues

I seemed to get a performance increase just by changing from borderless to native full screen.

I am getting a steady 120FPS with a RTX4090 with no crashes. All options are turned on including DLSS Frame Generation. The 120FPS is the refresh speed of my 4K monitor so anything above that would be wasted anyway.

What I did find when loading the game after a fresh install was that video>graphics>Anti Aliasing settings was defaulted to FSR which, obviously, is nonsensical. Once I set this to DLSS and left the type of DLSS at AUTO the game worked fine.

More to do with inexperience. Many PC owners seem to have the impression a PC is a console. Often they do not have the experience or the technical knowledge to troubleshoot issues properly thus get extremely frustrated that games, particularly new games, do not work out the box.

on a RTX 4090. Max settings with DLSS Quality + frame generation, then force v-sync in NVCP ( you need a g-sync screen to do this) and it runs smooth.

My solution how to load save if your game crash.
1) Start New game with RTX on In main menu
2)Skip intro and Load your save from game
or
1) RTX OFF in main menu and load your save

Out of curiosity which CPU are u using? I have had no problems at all, all maxed out at 4k with dlss set to quality and frame gen on. (4090 / 12900k / 64g DDR5). I noticed many are using AMD CPU's, maybe that is the common factor causing the issues?

I also have a 12900k and it stutters like crazy here. Definitely not an AMD-exclusive issue, just horrible CPU utilization.

I usually have two cores at 98%, half of them at 0~1% and the rest sitting between 20%~30% while being CPU limited. Just an awful experience all around.

Isn't that the point in buying a 4000 series card in the first place?

yes and its a great feature, especially in singleplayer games... i maxed out the settings at 4k and have smooth 110 fps, not a single stutter so far... i have a 12700k...

there is no CPU limitation for me, you must doing something wrong sorry...

RTX 4090 Ryzen 7900x

4K full ultra RT, DLSS quality, Frame generation ON

That was a stutter fest, unplayable with frame gen. And that was not always 60+ (or even 50) without frame gen.

But with some tweaks in NV control panel: Vsync ON and frame capped @ 90 (i'm on a 120hz TV), it's now really enjoyable

Still some small stutters sometimes when i exit the menu, but it's really wayyyyyyyyy better than before, and no more frame drops below 60

It is unbelievable that anyone who has a job was stupid enough to think this "update" (sabotage) was ready for release.

Great visuals, really good job ! BUT !
Rtx 4090, 7950x, ddr 5 6000, stuttering non stop and i cant even use frame generation...

Please patch :)

Must be the driver for the 40x series then.
I got a nvidia 3060, AMD Ryzen 7 3800 (the older ones, dont know), Raytracing enabled.
