I can't save
Decided to start a new game from scratch. I've just finished the whole White Orchard part, only to realize that my saved games do not show. Luckily for me I did not quit the game, but now I am unable to save at all. Changing permissions on the saved games folder did not help at all. I know this was an issue for some when the game first came out, but I've never experienced it. Did anybody find a fix for this? I really don't want to go through White Orchard again.

Did you try importing witcher 2 saves and constantly get the "Older versions won't be able to use this save" or such a tooltip in the save menu?
I did this and the save menu kept bugging out afterwards and the game didn't save. Restarting fixed the issue and I had to replay the prologue sadly.

I moved the previous saves to another folder leaving the original folder empty and it helped after restarting the game.

Exactly that's what happened. I guess that's what I get for trusting this update on day 1. Thanks, guys.

I tried the fix from there
https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/witcher-3/pc/sp-technical/issue/654/i-am-unable-to-save-the-game
but it not really helped. Also after my second fix and deactivated the things from the website it still works so this (I think) helped me:

Go to
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\
Klick right mouse button on "The Witcher 3" folder and set the attributes for read only to off (just unclick it) and take over the settings.

Hello. I didn't import a Witcher 2 save, but am constantly getting the "older save version" popup. Is there any fix for that? Also, is there a way to disable cross-play? Help greatly appreciated :)

Run the .exe in both dx11 and dx12 as admin , run steam as admin. This should bypass any permission errors.
