Shadows on Low with ray traced shadows.
So i been playing with the settings and im noticing that with ray traced shadows on, you can still change the shadow setting. I put mine all the way down to low and you do get more performance and im not really noticing any difference in the shadows going between the low and ultra with ray traced shadows on.

I have been having this odd glitch with Geralts hair since the update. Like inside on occasion it appears he has black hair and outside in sunset his appears to have golden hair. I mean dark black and bright gold and only on the front and facial hair. It was ray trace shadows that messed it up it seems. Turned them off and its all good. o yeah ray tracing shadows def needs work.

That's odd that that fixed it for you, turning off Nvidia Hair Works fixed it for me. Maybe it's something about having hair works on combined with ray traced shadows causes that.

I havnt encountered this glitch yet. Im working on finding out if you need water quality all the way up if you have ray traced reflections on.

water quality has a little extra caustics to it when its all the way up, but other than that it doesnt seem to do much, but performance seems mostly unaffected with ray traced reflections on.

I know I'm a few months late but with a quick google search not many people are talking about this. I have been running with shadow quality on low with ray traced shadows enabled with rt on max and it's a boost of 5-10 fps depending on the area. And I don't see a visual difference aside from smoother frames. It's kinda nice because for me it was the final key to the puzzle to getting my pc's configuration running this title with the next gen stuff with the perfect mix of performance and quality. Maybe this will help others. +1
