DX12 still bad ?
Saw the differences between DX12 and DX11 on foliage and was wondering if DX12 got some fixes ?

Talking performance wise

Yeah its awful. Crashes and has HUGE cpu bottlenecks

constant crashing, terrible fps, massive bottleneck on pretty much every cpu, and dlss doesn't improve performance.

game work flawless since day one if you don't use rt in dx12 i have a 3 years old gpu 3080 and a i7 10700kf and 16g ram i use gsync so game is locked at 60 fps everything is on extreme + and dsll quality playing in 4k never see a stutter or a slow down never a crash my pc is 3 years old nothing special would be nice to post pc specs because these peoples whit issue are they trying to play on 3060 in 4k and rt on have no idea but it dont make any sense.

If you don't have a 4090 running ray tracing, there is zero point in using DX12 in this game. Stick to DX11 unless you absolutely need to have ray tracing going, Otherwise it's just an overall performance decrease for nothing.
I was able to get the game running at 60-70 fps with ray tracing, using the optimized RT mod. But theres still a huge memory leak with RT on it got too annoying having to restart the game every 15 min so finally gave up and playing on dx11

Utter garbage, DX12 has many performance optimisations over DX11, it's not just RT -
I'm running DX12 on a laptop RTX3080 with no RT , everything else maxed out (but crowds set on high) - runs smoother than identical settings on DX11 and Controller input is much faster/smoother. I get no performance degredation even though I play for 3 - 6 hrs at a time.

If you're seeing better performance with DX11, then it's your system. not DX12.

glad you have no issues, but it is pretty widespread that the dx12 implementation here is problematic. im seeing 30% cpu utilization on a 5800x. that is not normal.

it feels like pc gamers have oppositional defiance disorder or something. just because your experiences are (allegedly) flawless, doesn't discredit others who are having performance issues. idk why gamers have to act like children constantly when someone's experience differs from theirs.

So what would be the proper response to someone saying/implying their experience with DX12 is the only experience, like =Static-E= did?

Was there any sneaky patch after the Hotfix 2?
My game was running without any horrendous issues right after that patch dropped on 3070ti, dlss on auto, RT on everything and ultra+, 5 years old machine with relatively new gpu
Today I booted it and with the same settings it ran at est. circa 14FPS... unplayable.

DX11 or DX12 ?
Washeek Jan 5, 2023 @ 3:28pm
DX12
And it seems there was circa 83kb yesterday. Would be strange to be a steam cloud sync. But not ruling out some issue on the current system, will try tomorrow again.

DX12 is ok, but Ray Tracing is jerky for me on 3080TI not playable.

DX12 is what I use, because I prefer how it looks compared to DX11. I use Ultra+ settings on everything, DLSS for AA, set to Quality, Sharpness on High and max Hairworks settings. No RT. Bloom, Depth of Field, Motion Blur are turned off.

Game is stable, plays smooth, with no slowing down enough anywhere for it to be a concern. FPS capped at 60, 1080p resolution.
